Jordan Travis (FSU): 23/31, 342 yards, 5 total TD’s
And only ONE of these QB’s came away with a loss

I even think they'd move up to 1 (no matter the cost) if they thought the Bears would trade with them.
But I think it could be the Commies at 2. There have been rumors that Washington is interested in trading for Fields. They could trade back to 11, get a haul of future picks to rebuild that team, using just one of them to trade for Fields. Plus they'd still have the 11th pick if they wanted to draft a QB to compete with Fields.
Vikings get their choice between Daniels and Maye....or even Williams if the Bears don't like what they see when they vet him.
Florio is a bozo but I agree too. The fallback plan of Sam Darnold is just such a long... fall... back. No GM can sell that with a straight face barring some kind of miracle career resurrection for Darnold.
I see there's now a rumor thread about us moving up to 4. I think they're gonna move heaven and earth to get to 4 or higher. Letting other teams decide who the face of our franchise is by taking their leftovers is a dicey.
It's such an incredibly bad strategy doubling down on that player busting by mortgaging future high round draft capital is not something I'd want to be a part of. Even if that means rolling with Darnold and a mid round rookie for a year. 3 of our last 10 first round picks are good. When you think of it this way trading up gets easier to stomach.
If the tea leaves are to be believed and KO and Kwesi disagreed on Kirk, it becomes even more important for KAM to get KO the QB he wants in this draft. Lest we have another dreaded SCHISM.

Not everyone is going to agree on who the 4th or 5th best QB in the draft is. We know at least one NFC team has JJM QB2. So if the Vikings take the 4th QB but have him ranked QB2, that's a win.I think Kwesi believes, rightly so, that with the offense we have and the shit ton of cap space we have, hitting on a rookie QB (at whatever the cost) would set this team up for a decade and make him GM of the year. But it's a HUGE gamble.
We know Kirk is going to light it up in Atlanta. So Kwesi is either going to be a laughing stock and fired within a year, or he'll be GM of the year for rebuilding a super bowl contender while nobody was looking.

None of those guys were top 10 picks though and that is what you are realistically looking at giving up if the quarterback we draft is a bust or Darnold is our starter this year. If the quarterback we draft busts, we are probably looking at a few years of top 10 picks. That's called doubling down on your misery, and let's face it, our GM has been spotty at best at identifying draft talent so what makes anybody think he us hitting on a quarterback on his first swing? This just has the makings of a collasal shit sandwich if this thing gets flubbed. We need to be smart (not book smart, football smart) in how we move forward

You are right, with the other side of that coin being he gives up Hershall Walker-esque load of draft picks to move up, misses on a QB (as most do), and not only do we have to deal with the repercussions of drafting a bust at quarterback, but now we don't have our future first round picks either. That's why (despite our talent on offense) we CAN NOT force this thing if it's not there.

For Better or worse, this is exactly where Kwesi has put us. If he does nothing other than Darnold and a mid-round dart throw to address the QB position, he's truly terrible at his job and should be fired. If he misses on the QB that he's sunk al of his eggs into this basket for...he'll also be fired. After letting the QB face of the franchise for the last 6 years walk out the door, he literally has no choice other than to address the position in a huge way.I'm not saying this is the best plan we could have had, but it is where we are. Kwesi has to produce the QBOTF at any and all costs and then hope he pans out. It's a shit load to gamble on, but it's his career.....

The constant job justifying nature of online kids trying to be NFL experts is hilarious....and the obvious clickbait articles with gotcha headlines. So many ridiculous conspiracy theory stuff on how the Viking's trade is either amazing (yesterday) and now trending toward 'they may have messed up', for reason X and Y, lol. They are creating their own narratives and story lines to respond to each other to keep the buzz going. It gets to be a bit exhausting sifting through the garbage to find something credible.

There are 5 to 6 franchise QB’s in this draft. How they fair longterm is unknown because there are so many variables (especially where they go), but all have the talent.
All but Daniels have been talked about for over a year. Daniels monster season brought him into the conversation. This was widely believed to be the strongest QB class in decades.
There is no such thing as 4th or 5th QB - it’s arbitrary and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
There’s also no such thing as “floor” or “ceiling”. It’s nothing more than draft jargon to justify in one’s mind why taking a guy who’s tape is subpar to another is a good idea.
There are no “tiers”. Again, this is a nonsense term that has no relevance to reality. It doesn’t actually mean anything.
Lastly, age is completely irrelevant. It in no way means a player will succeed or develop more or at a certain rate. Odds are only a couple become truly oustanding starters. Age does not determine that.
On the Justin Jefferson front: I would not trade him unless the team doesn’t believe they can resign him. If that’s the case, I’d do it now. This particular draft is stacked at WR. If for instance the Cards wanted him, it would take both their firsts this year and a 2 this year or 1 next year - either or.
I’d take our QB at 4, then WR at 11, then the Center from Oregon, then DT all in round 1.

The Jefferson thing is still so strange to me. Like it should be a no brainer that he is signed to an extension already, and the fact that he isn't is bizarre. The only thing I can think is that both Jefferson and the Vikings have been waiting to see what happens with Cousins, and on the Vikings end it's been reported we would be aggressive in moving up for a QB even at the expense of trading Jefferson to do it. I think he is an even more attractive commodity being on a rookie contract. If he were to be traded, the Cardinals make the most sense having a high pick, that could land us a quarterback, as well as the 27th pick. Imagine the draft flexibility we would have with picks 4, 11, 23 and 27. We coupd really reshape the roster with young talent and cap flexibility heading next year

Yah, it doesnt feel "quite right" does it?One theory I heard that makes some sense, I dubbed the Diva hesitation
Jeudy, Chase and JJ are all due for extensions. None of them wants to be the first domino to fall and then get out signed by another the next week.
All 3 most likely wanted to see what the actual cap increase was too. That cap increase may move JJ past mid $30mm per at this point.

That cap increase may move JJ past mid $30mm per at this point.
i dont think Jeudy belongs in the same conversation as chase and JJ.
Jeudy is all projection even after 4 years.

If that’s the case, I’d do it now. This particular draft is stacked at WR. If for instance the Cards wanted him, it would take both their firsts this year and a 2 this year or 1 next year - either or.

Interesting. Would not surprise me. The Diva Hesitation...sounds like a Robert Ludlum novel.
Per Albert Breer, the Vikings will be hosting McCarthy for a private workout

Yep. Can't remember who it was, but a few years ago the Vikings took a guy in the 1st they never met with. Were they disguising interest in Nix by not attending his pro day? Seems unlikely, but you never know. Too many questions, not enough answers and 5 weeks to speculate.
