Tis the season of throwing s#$% against the wall
We're picking up very credible indications that Kirk Cousins is planning a potential move of his family from Minnesota to Atlanta. https://t.co/ZSlTq9tnMc

Florio is a douchebag. Whether he's right on this or not, I have zero idea.

But if he doesn't see the value in familiarity, a solid organization that cares about him and weapons on offense for a hometown discount (whether that's dollars or lesser guarantees....and my guess the sticking point definitely IS guarantees) than a 36 year old coming off injury should go ahead and see how green the grass is outside the fence. KAM didn't lock up Cousins yet for a reason. It wasn't negligence, stupidity or naiveté: it was strategic.
I guarantee you Baker Mayfield and his agent are watching what is going on in Minnesota very intensely.
Oh I totally agree. At this point, I am fine with him moving on, they have to move on from him at some point. Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forward
the age doesnt frighten me, the injury at that age does...It'll be interesting in a few years to look back at Kirko and Rogers and see if we learned anything new about these injuries - at least with older QB's.
I am slowly preparing myself for having to take a big step back @ QB play in 24. I mean if they were going to have a deal, you would think it would be b4 the legal tampering period.
I only hope this franchise's terrible history with QB's wont continue on a forward basis. I spend too much of my time and $ on season tix for that.

He has been with the Vikings a long time without even sniffing a superbowl. Perhaps he sees a better chance with another team, or maybe he cares more about money than championships. We will find out soon.
I'd be more surprised if Kirk was NOT looking for houses in Atlanta. If I were interviewing there, I would be too. But nothing has yet been offered or signed. And I really do think Kirk will give Minnesota a chance to match or beat their offer.
Problem is, I don't see Kwesi matching it. I think Atlanta knows how incredibly rare good QBs are and they won't even blink at 3 years, while Kwesi is much more focused on his long-term financial vision.
Atlanta just makes too much sense for Kirk considering the factors, if Atlanta is really interested and not just positioning for a Fields trade, I would say it is the most likely where he ends up
Consider family has always been far and away the number one priority for Kirk, his wife is from the Atlanta area and her parents still live there, Kirk's long time trainer since 2010 is in Atlanta, Kirk's parents are in Florida, where Kirk has spent a good part of the off seasons.
I am ready to move on and ignore what Kirk is doing.
if, by chance, we can’t grab one of the top four QBs in to draft, then I say draft to rebuild the team.
People keep sayin but if all of the top four are gone, then what. I say, screw it,and higher a short term bridge QB for 2024 (maybe 2025) and start rebuilding the house.
I am not afraid of a bad year, in fact it helps us grab the QB down the road. Stop screwing around or we will end up in fourth place in the North behind three teams that already rebuilt
I'll believe Cousins leaves when I see it. If Kirk doesn't stay, then FU Cousins. You'll be a very rich man, but never the elite QB teams are looking for.
I see everything right now as smoke and mirrors from agents, team PR divisions, and from "reporters" trying to earn their word-count paychecks. You notice how little concrete ANYTHING is from an actual player or team...especially in the case of Kirk and the Vikings? Both have said they hope to work things out, both have said they understand it's a business, and that's...it.
Everything else is bibble-babble from "sources".
I hope he stays, I think the emerging o-line and defense could finally put a team around him that would have balance; previously, this would actually be a first for him in Purple. If he goes, I know he'll be classy about it and, like Teddy, TJack, and others before, I'll wish him well as long as he's not playing against us.
As far as everything bubbling up on the sites, now? Show me the "sources", or spare me.
Arthur Blank will be 82 this September. He isn't wasting time with Justin Fields, or telling his people "let's try another rookie cuz I figure I'll live forever." He has a team with a lot of talent in a weak division. They were in a lot of games last year until Desmond Ridder took them out of them. I would say it's pretty likely that the rumor he wants Kirk is true.

I think Penix is the best prospect in this draft and he will probably be available at 11. What the Vikings think or plan to do, I have no idea.
Offseason speculation is part of the NFL "entertainment" experience. I don't know why people get so upset about prognosticators or media during this time. Stop taking everything so serious like it is an affront just try and enjoy and speculate yourself.

The level of anger directed at Cousins on Twitter for not being willing to take a "team-friendly" deal is the most idiotic. He was never going to take a team friendly deal. Under-market due to the injury? Sure. But a top 6 to 7, 35-year old QB is not going to take a significantly-under-market deal if he doesn't have to...if he's got a market, and it's clear he does.
@"MaroonBells" said:However, if you're the #1 QB, like Brady, you're smart enough to take less. That's probably his secret to winning SBs.@"minny65" said: Offseason speculation is part of the NFL "entertainment" experience. @"MaroonBells" said:Agree, any online hate is ridiculous. That said, team friendly doesn't always mean less money. Could be less years with a market rate deal, less guaranteed money at a market rate deal, or removing the no trade clause. Accepting any one (not all) of those things would likely get a deal done with the Vikings.@"minny65" said: Offseason speculation is part of the NFL "entertainment" experience. He wants to be the unquestioned guy for the next 3 years. Can't blame him for that.
It also seems like the Vikings want to do 2 or less years guaranteed so they aren't on the hook if he can't make it back from the Achilles or experiences any age related decline before the end of any upcoming contract. Can't blame them either.
One side will need to cave in if he's going to be here next year. But if some other team is willing to give him 50+ million per year guaranteed and a no trade clause, he's gone and the Vikings will probably be looking at Russ, Baker, or some other bridge QB and making a move for a QBotF.
Now that Evans reupped w/ Tampa, Baker probably resigns, & they then tag Winfield. Not sure why Mayfield woldn’t stay there…
Kwesi and KOC won't get fired if they sign Kirk again unless he gets injured again and things go South.
Any other direction and their futures become less secure.
Instead of 3 years, I think they will offer a boatload of money for 2.
