Where will Kirk end up?

I also think if the Vikings offer is competitive, Kirko will stay here in this system, with this staff, with this surround and not move the kids out of MN.

I think what gets it done is the term. I think Kwesi, due to what appears to be a pretty specific and restrictive financial vision for the future, doesn't want to go past two years. And I think there are teams who won't even blink at a 3-year term.

I don't think there's a market for him beyond Minnesota and Atlanta in a real way and even if there were, I think these are the only 2 opportunities he would seriously consider. Its not like the Falcons have a shit team, they don't. Kirk's wife was born and raised in Atlanta and went to the University of Georgia in Athens, so this is a real choice if Atlanta is truly interested. But although I much prefer getting Cousins back in Minnesota, my line in the sand is no 3-year contract and the whole thing can't be guaranteed.

Teams can't say anything right now. But I think there are very good reasons why they're currently the favorites to land him. They very much need a QB; Kirk spends offseasons there; they have the weapons and could consider themselves a QB away; they have a top 5 offensive line (2nd in pass blocking); and like the Vikings, the Falcons run a McVay offense.

I think he'd probably prefer the Vikings over a dozen other teams. But if the Vikings offer isn't close to theirs, it's going to to be hard for him to ignore how well he fits there.

We've all been hearing Kirk/Atlanta Kirk/Atlanta because it makes sense, but they were originally the likely destination for Belichick too, and in the aftermath it doesn't sound like he was ever that strong of a candidate. Falcons beat writers might not be as plugged in as some other teams' writers are.

Do what you will with this explosive news, but apparently there's a legit chance Kirk comes back and a legit chance he explores the FA market.

vegas thinks there is steam in the Fields to Atl,  odds for it happening went from +600 to -130 in less than 2 days this week.

I totally agree that I doubt there’s any way that Cousins
gets the 3 year fully guaranteed deal from anyone.  I think the best he’ll get is some sort of conditional
guarantees that guarantee the next year if his availability or performance are
still in line with what people are expecting. 
I think a decent possibility is something like 3 years / $105-120M with 1
year guaranteed, and each following year guaranteed if he plays in 15+ games
and has over 3800 yards.  I don’t think
we would do that.  I think we would want
a harder out after year 2.

I think the money will be roughly the same. The market is the market. So I'll say what I've been saying for two months: for Kirk it will come down to Atlanta (or whoever) for 3 years or the Vikings for 2. 

I don't think there's a market for him beyond Minnesota and Atlanta in a real way and even if there were, I think these are the only 2 opportunities he would seriously consider. Its not like the Falcons have a shit team, they don't. Kirk's wife was born and raised in Atlanta and went to the University of Georgia in Athens, so this is a real choice if Atlanta is truly interested. But although I much prefer getting Cousins back in Minnesota, my line in the sand is no 3-year contract and the whole thing can't be guaranteed.

The combine will be pretty interesting to see how the market shapes up. Since there is no binary in/out it'll be interesting to see where the conversations start vs. where the Vikings line in the sand is. Would Pitt, NE, LV get involved somewhere in the middle if the reality is less than the initial ask? MNs offer is probably flexible in dollars but it'll be a single guaranteed year (2024) with partial guarantees in 2025.
