OT: 80 year olds performing concerts...
Rod Stewart had to be given oxygen on stage a week or two ago and now Lionel Ritchie on stage had to end his Earth/Wind/Fire show early after falling ill.
On one hand? I applaud them for getting out there and being vibrant/active...OTOH? Might be time to chill a bit more.

Lies!! OK, his tone has a twangy, Bruce Dern quality, but the guy could definitely sing.
I’ll say he’s an acquired taste. Like Bob Dylan who I appreciate more now than when I had shoulder length non-gray hair.

Rock god Robert Plant will be in MN this October...Very tempted on that one

I missed the hair band period, unless that includes Bono's mullet or whatever one might call the gothic tumbleweed atop the head of Robert Smith (the other one). Bob Dylan's another acquired taste, but I'd rather hear him sing than Barry Manilow. I'd rather hear Tom Waits sing than Celine Dion.

Beat me to it. Just recently saw this.

Classic rock is great but as someone who isn't old enough to have seen these acts in their prime, I can't say I have much desire to see them play live nowadays. I did see Tom Petty around 2007 and that was fun, but I haven't sought out the Springsteen, McCartney, Stones, Elton tours in recent years. Maybe I'll regret that but I'm fine enjoying their albums and seeing more current acts perform live these days.
Speaking of new music, I discovered this one just last night. Love the late 60s London style and the early 70s horn-driven soul sound. The singer ain't bad either.
