Let thread starters sink their thread?
This is already an admin function on a lot of forums but I have always thought that the thread owner should be able to save face by setting their own thread as sunk so that new replies don't bump it anymore. It doesn't eliminate the thread and people could still find it through their profile replies listing but it doesn't get bumped up in the thread listing.
Thoughts?

I guess maybe we could just have users ask for it to be applied.

I like it. It also prevents someone from purposely bringing up an old or controversial thread just to be an
Not that anyone here would do such a thing. 😎

yeah cricket that is sort of the point. Like I said the option is there for mods or admins but it might be useful for posters in general if only just to save face. Maybe I could do something like a "Request to sink thread" or even a vote to sink thread would be cool and let the community vote on it.

Search would be welcome.

I, personally like the "Request to sink thread" option. I'm not sure about the community voting on it. That could have the potential of turning ugly. JMHO.

Oh Yes! Let's talk about search function and how it would work.
Search whole site, and/or be able to search for certain things? Like either search whole site or have a drop down that searches different items? Like search usernames, search posts, search thread titles? That sort of thing?

@Michael Olson ~ I like the Drop Down Menu with the different options to choose from.

Have to be careful with this so that seraches a re gated against permissions. Like non-mod users able to go into mod forums etc.

Would also like to see who is currently viewing a thread while you are in the thread.
I’m thinking at some point if we add too much on it will impact performance.
The return time of search has been instantaneous. Nice

A "Preview Post" option would be nice, so that we can preview our post before actually hitting "Post Reply", particularly until we come up to speed on the proper formatting of X ,YouTube, etc.

Not sure where I would put that as we are already displaying who posted in the thread.
