Let thread starters sink their thread?

This is already an admin function on a lot of forums but I have always thought that the thread owner should be able to save face by setting their own thread as sunk so that new replies don't bump it anymore. It doesn't eliminate the thread and people could still find it through their profile replies listing but it doesn't get bumped up in the thread listing.

Thoughts?

I guess maybe we could just have users ask for it to be applied.

I like it. It also prevents someone from purposely bringing up an old or controversial thread just to be an Yes Please Smile GIF by DreamWorks AnimationNot that anyone here would do such a thing. 😎

yeah cricket that is sort of the point. Like I said the option is there for mods or admins but it might be useful for posters in general if only just to save face. Maybe I could do something like a "Request to sink thread" or even a vote to sink thread would be cool and let the community vote on it.
