Kwesi Fired...
WOWSA...I'm a little shocked still. Do the Wilfs frequent these boards?

We’re going to have to make our competition at QB decision 6 weeks before the draft. One of the biggest decisions we’ll make this year. And it will be done without a GM. And the new GM will be saddled with the consequences of that decision. Seems odd.

thats why I really question those that say this has been in the works for a while, if they were going to move on from him IMO it would have happened several weeks ago.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
I don't think people get credit for just being critical of the team. It's easy to be critical of the team and you don't have to wait long to be right. The career of a player, coach, GM, etc. is like 3 years long with any given team. Every team but one is ending the season falling short of their goal.

One guy should be making this decision and one guy only....and he will. See below:
But wouldn't you be surprised to discover that KOC had no input on the Howell decision? I would be. I keep coming back to the idea that KAM wanted the QB on a rookie deal thing and KOC wanted Darnold. I mean, at the end of the day, that is the one big, glaring, embarrassing move with Darnold in the Super Bowl.

Supa, please step away from the ledge, take a deep breath and let's wait and see what the rest of the fallout looks like.

What if I told you that Howell wasn't KOC's deal? And what if I told you that KOC was really torn at the end between Uncle Sammy and his piece of clay in JJM....and he's not surprised at all by Darnold's success. It was a really tough spot and Sam wanted a commitment to be The Man or move on....because his agent knew that Seattle was all in on Darnold back in late December.
Just sayin'.
Like I said, I'd be shocked. KAM never struck me as the dictator type. But who knows? Maybe the Wilfs.

Yeah, KOC is making that decision not the GM.
But I do think it’s crazy that they’re just skipping a GM during the time when the GM does all their work. Like we’re not that many weeks past the time when everyone else was fired and then hired. It’s not like they’re that far behind everyone else that you have to punt on the hiring process.
I think they’re just going to let KOC and Flores draft like their jobs depend on it and if we don’t compete for a championship next year, they’ll be out and the new GM can reboot it however they want, unless we get reports that Kwesi was hitting on someone’s wife or whatever.

Truer words. To that I would add, every team but one has a QB who didn't "play well in big games."
HOLY $...
Just got here...not sure why my phone notifications didn't light up
Florio's a pinhead, and wrong more than he's right, but for what it's worth...
The Purple Persuasion@TPPSkol
There it is! Mike Florio saying Kevin O'Connell tried warning the Vikings FO J.J. McCarthy wasn't ready.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah didn't listen... and now he is FIRED.
"This was rooted in, if not driven by, the ill fated QB decision of 2025. This tells us Kwesi Adofo-Mensah wanted what they got. J.J. McCarthy with journeyman backups and that O’Connell was cautioning against it. He was the guy saying this isn’t going to work”.

No friends? LOLOLOLOL My phone hasn't stopped buzzing lol.
(Just screwing with you, this is not a personal attack)
I don’t think there’s any evidence that KOC wanted Darnold over JJM. You watch any KOC before the season started and he was just hyping up every player. Every report was how amazing JJM was going to be.

Show us the screenshots of the text messages or it's just rats on a sinking ship trying to avoid blame and responsibility.

You think we'll be rolling with JJM, bringing in competition, or going after a new starter?

Accompanied by twits trying to be first with the scoop.
The biggest lie is that KOC is a QB whisperer. The list of QBs that KOC failed to make work is huge. The list of QBs that KOC made better is just Darnold and maybe Jones (but who knows about that, because Darnold went through SF who seem to have a proven track record at that, and Jones never played a snap here).
I’m not shitting on KOC here. There’s like 15-20 guys who are reasonably good at playing QB at an NFL level, no one should be expecting him to take turds and polish them into diamonds every offseason.
Everyone is trying to cover their own ass to avoid the blame of a failed season. Now that Kwesi is gone it is easy to put blame on him. That puts the bullseye on KOC. If the Vikings don't make the playoffs nest season and a win then KOC is gone.
ATTN: Ryan Grigson is not "running the draft" guys. Listen to Mark Wilf's presser. Not sure I heard Grigson mentioned once.
Bryznski is running the show with help from the systems and coaches we have in place.
My opinion-- This draft and offseason is an audition for KO to have more say over personnel, in conjunction with Bryznski who the Wilfs probably trust, and see how it goes. Whether that's a good idea or not, I guess we'll find out. But otherwise, why delay hiring a GM?
The only other reason I can think to delay hiring a GM would be if this came completely out of nowhere and the Wilfs don't have the bandwidth to do a full-on search at the moment? I don't know. It's weird. Things are rarely 'normal' in Vikingland.

I read that as KOC will have a much bigger role in player acquisition.
