Cross off the Dolphins, they’re hiring Packers DC Hafley.

I can definitely see why you'd rank them that way, but here's another way to view it: If you don't win right away in Buff, Balt or Pitt, you may not last long. Those teams already had good coaches. Great coaches IMO.

I think I might prefer to go someplace where I can make a difference. Maybe the Raiders. For example, John Harbaugh won the lottery IMO. Giants have a good, young offensive line and one of the best front sevens in football, if not THE best. Their 4-win season was due mostly to onboarding a young QB and injuries to Nabers, Skattebo and their starting left tackle. They'll get those players back next year, and Dart will be going into year two, so that team is probably going to win a LOT more games and Harbaugh is going to get most of the credit for it. Write it down. :-)

But if you can't take the heat, probably shouldn't be coaching in the NFL.

Not having to find a QB (Balt, Buff) and not having owners that fire the lot every 3 years also has a certain draw to it.

Bottom line is there are only 32 of those jobs on the planet and they are all pretty coveted. To me, the difference is the ownership groups and how far you have to go to field a winning team....

I will always wonder what Harbaugh could have done with that roster up in Buffalo.

not sure the Balt QB is a big plus, smoke about him being an issue and you must run an offense that fits his specific skill set

I would agree, plus they have the #5 overall draft pick which will help add more talent.

Looks like Robert Saleh to the Titans. 4 jobs filled, 6 to go.

I didn't have this one on my bingo card. I thought the Titans would gravitate toward a coach with a strong offensive background to groom Ward. But, it worked out for the Patriots with Maye & Vrabel, so what do I know.

Saleh was super close to getting the Jacksonville job over Coen....very close. Ownership really had to debate it. I think Tennessee will turn out to be a decent job to take. Cam Ward grew on me this year.

It's been discussed on NFL Radio a bunch, but the thought was if Saleh were to land another head coaching gig that his first call would be to Mike McDaniel as his offensive coordinator..they have a great relationship from their time in San Francisco together. I think that's a pretty good combo if it were to happen

Agreed on his skill set, and getting injured now as well.  Not sure about him being an issue other than he represents himself.  He is just a bit odd and doesn't like the attention.

Looks like McDaniel is headed to the Chargers to be OC for Harbaugh and Herbert. Not surprised he saw that as a better opportunity than Cam Ward and Titans management.

I think highly of Saleh as a DC but jumping back in with that org might become his last go at being a head guy because I don't see a great chance of success there.

Kind of surprised he took the Chargers job as I'd assume Harbaugh would still have major influence on gameplanning and the style of offense he'd like to run. Saleh needs a good OC and I'd assume would have given him free reighn in that department

Harbaugh assistant with a good qb probably leads to more of a future HC job boost than hoping to turn around a totally dysfunctional Titans org with a question mark at qb.   I would guess that's how he sees it, just a guess though.

A lot of aging stars in Pittsburgh and Baltimore.   Buffalo needs a COMPLETE overhaul of their skill position players on offense imo.

I see it as glass > half full...

They got the OL, Franchise QB, RB, TE....Add a couple of WR's and they probably win vs Broncos. ITs all very reminiscent of Rogers in his prime in GB.

The front office/owner is making me scratch my head right now, but they are still #1 on my most desirable HC spot left open. I'll always be left wondering what Harbaugh could have done paired with Allen.

The Bills total void of talent at WR is absolutely what did them in and the GM is lucky to be surviving frankly. Brandin Cooks had a strong career but is ancient in receiver years. In the Broncos game late he didn't get both feet down on a tough play on the sidelines, or make that catch at the end obviously. He's far from the sole reason they lost but I agree with you-- even average WR play and Buffalo offense will improve dramatically. It should have this year if they did anything beyond the bare minimum.

On McDaniels to LAC- Very smart move. He will have HC offers this time next year if he can get that offense playing even close to it's potential based on the talent they have.

They are likely targeting coaches that are still coaching active playoff teams?  Isnt there a rule about not being able to interview coaches the week of games?  Could have interviewed members of the 2 bye teams staffs during their bye weeks,  but now have to wait until teams are eliminated or the week off before SB week?

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Yeah it’s something like that. We had to wait a while to make the KO hire official because the Rams kept winning I remember.

It does seem like that, but I think that's just our perception because we're no longer still playing and we have something to lose.
