2025 NFL Free Agency and Draft: DT
Like corner, this draft class appears to have good value in the late 1st for DTs. And the thing I've noticed that is unusual about this class is how many BIG guys there are this year, with 5 of the top 8 on one board all weighing in over 320 lbs. That is rare.
Could see 4-6 DT's solidifying first round grades or elevating into first round next week at @seniorbowl.#TheDraftStartsInMOBILE™️ https://t.co/Lp12Z16QiM

Agree....among those options. But I'd like to offer a 4th option: Milton Williams - Harrison Phillips - Derrick Harmon. Everyone keeps pushing Phillips outside in favor of the fatty inside. Phillips often swings between inside and outside, but I don't think he offers much in the way of a pass rush outside. Prefer to keep him inside, with better pass rushers outside. But who knows what Flores has in mind.
Obviously there is a lot of context to this, but I found it interesting that when CJ West left Kent State after 4 years to go to Indiana.

Indiana went 82nd to 2nd in the FBS in rushing yards allowed per game, and 68th to 3rd in average yards per carry allowed too

The #Vikings have met with Florida State DT Joshua Farmer at the NFL combine, a source tells me. Farmer is expected to be a day 2 pick:pic.twitter.com/8i4JNKy2IT

After Alexander, I thought Farmer was the 2nd most impressive inside guy I saw in Mobile.

A lot of iDL looked the part. Great year to need one.

Our first pick seems to be trending toward DL. The value at DL between 20 and 50 is much stronger than CB or IOL. RB is a possibility of course, but it seems like the value at RB is thickest in rounds 3 and 4.

Someone the Vikings should target in FA is Chiefs DT Tershawn Wharton. Much like Jonathan Greenard last cycle, he’s a rising player yet to hit his prime.

At 26, he racked up 6.5 sacks, wrecks the run game, pressures QBs, and has a relentless motor—a perfect fit for their defense pic.twitter.com/O04JIP4bTr
Smallish. Would be a pass rush only guy imo.

.@OleMissFB @WalterNolen4 love his tape...plays the game the right way...a terrific force whereever you line him up. Cant help but think he reminds me of @Titans @GrindSimmons94 Easy player to evaluate. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/PnzexntjA1

I think this could be one of Kwesi's guys. Good pass rusher, just turned 30, former 1st rounder, couple of pro bowls, experience in odd fronts, typically durable but was hurt most of last season.
Jonathan Allen would be the perfect option for the Vikings on the interior of the defensive line https://t.co/T4jStnGSIA https://t.co/3r68DAIKho

Nolan unfortunately is going to be so far out of our reach...
I cant help but wonder how much they are willing to spend on Williams, he is going to garner some serious attention. I am still scorned by the guy we lost to Vegas last year.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Watching Oregon 3T Derrick Harmon (#55). Pass rush productivity is obvious (led FBS in pressures) but I’ve been impressed by how he holds his ground vs doubles despite playing a little high. Very complete player. pic.twitter.com/DCojAnl5Hm

I have a piece of paper in my pocket that says Derrick Harmon no matter what.

Kinlaw would be a great rotational piece along Minnesota’s defensive line. pic.twitter.com/WhCDmCHf7x
Would fit the archetype of a Kwesi value FA. Young, underperforming, former high pick. Last two years have been his best. Might have taken him longer to recover from knee issues. Higher upside than Tillery.
