I don't see the Vikings adding a running back in free agency. There's just not much out there. Even if we bring back one or both of Jones and Akers, I think the Vikings will take a RB with one of their first two picks. From this list, I love Jeanty and Henderson. Unimpressed by Skattebo and Neal. With the depth of this class, there's probably going to be good backs still on the board after the draft. One sleeper I like right now is Montrell Johnson, Jr out of Florida.

That syncs. Johnsons clips are filled with the kind of holes he'll never see in the NFL.

Iowa always has such good lines. I was surprised they were that high, however. Maybe that is why Johnson just didn't do well blocking, because he didn't have to lol.

I see people will try and go out of their way to discredit anything I say like it is still 2013. Too funny.

TreVeyon Henderson has EXPLOSIVE big play ability that simply can’t be taught.

He’s Jamaal Charles (as a prospect, people), without a fumbling issue.

Interesting comp. I can see it.

He does have big home-run ability, more than his running mate Judkins (who I also like a lot).

Depending on what happens in FA, he might be very tempting if there at 24 for KOC. JJM's best friend outside of TJH and Darrisaw.

You're going to have to overlook the injury history though - and keep your fingers/toes crossed going forward.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

What injury history? He broke a bone in his foot and lost 5 games and then lost 3 games to an undisclosed injury. This is simply a false narrative. Perplexing.

RB’s to post 1,500+ yards & 15+ TD’s as a true freshman & get drafted RD1-2 in the NFL Draft:

⁃ Adrian Peterson
⁃ LeSean McCoy
⁃ Ryan Williams
⁃ Todd Gurley
⁃ Nick Chubb

⁃ TreVeyon Henderson*
⁃ Quinshon Judkins*

*Pending Draft Capital.

I don't always agree with Thor Nystrom, but I think his plan for RB mirrors mine and many others around here.

I completely agree with this. Round 3 I think should be the earliest we take a back. If we can get a 2nd rounder, I believe we need to go CB or DT.

He lost me a bit at Najee Harris.

Gimme JCM and an UDFA in this class.

Well, Nystrom does seem to like the biggish, slowish, no lateral agility whatsoever, type of back. In his defense, he does say a back LIKE Harris. In mine, I called Harris a bust before he was drafted. :-) And honestly, even though i've never like him, in lieu of Aaron Jones, a vet "like" Harris wouldn't be a bad combo with a rookie like Henderson or Harvey.

I have been seeing Harvey fall a bit all of sudden. Not sure why that is. A lot of RBs are moving up fast now.

Yards after contact per carry for 2025 NFL Draft RBs:

5.25 - Ashton Jeanty ?

4.46 - Damien Martinez

4.43 - TreVeyon Henderson

4.42 - Kaleb Johnson

4.40 - Bhayshul Tuten

Tuten I’ve cooled considerably on. 5 fumbles and iffy pass blocker. Ball security is a relatively easy fix. Blocking might be technique or he just wasn’t asked to do it often. Regardless, in this class that a big issue.

I'm surprised Skattebo isn't on that list. Outside of Jeanty, on film, I thought his YAC was maybe the best in this class.

Well it is about YARDS. Skattebo might do better in a broken tackle metric. The backs listed above run for 40 yards after contact. Skattebo might run for 10 or 20 before he's caught from behind by Maurice Clarett.

Could be an oversight by the author or maybe he’s the next guy in line. He’ll be an interesting guy to watch next week. But you’re starting from the ground up for pass blocking. Is he just a bigger Troy Davis? Dunno.

Agreed. He's one of those guys where the athletic testing will go a long way in ultimately deciding where he gets drafted. I think the expectation is mid 4.5's. Anything under 4.5 and it jumps him up a couple rounds.

Love his power and how he runs angry. And honestly, I like his moves and lateral quickness more than a guy like Kaleb Johnson. I think his agility scores will be good. 3-cone, shuttle. But man he's so not straight line fast. If he runs under 4.6 I'll be shocked.

RB2 at the start of my process. Still RB2. Not gonna change. I COULD make a case for RB1.
