Kirby Joseph is one of the dirtiest players in the league. Just hit Higbee the same way he sniped Hockenson. Knee hunter. Fuck that guy

Green Bay and Lions both won today.

Then consider the bears draft picks and salary cap situation....

I dunno man, The Vikings fan in me ain't feeling all warm and fuzzy.

No way to sugar coat this. We are sooo screwed. It used to be the 49ers, Seahawks, Eagles and sometimes Bucs, Rams and Packers we had to contend with in the NFC. Now we are battling for third at best in our division and its not going to end any time soon

Detroit's DB's were holding all night. A whole lot of looking the other way...

I can recall at least 3 pretty blatant misses.

This isn't your father's Detroit Lions.

I was going to say the same about the rams OL,  I only watched about  a quarter of the game,  but the LA OL got away with several pretty blatant holding penalties.

Goff folds like a napkin under pressure.

Yep, I don't mean to say Detroit is some juggernaut. They aren't. They could have easily lost last night. But I don't think they'll fold up in the manner they used to back in the 90s. And as ga-ga as some are going over Green Bay, they lost 8 games this season. Both teams definitely trending in the right direction for the 2024 season.

No, I get it...

Bottom line is the optics (reality?) aren't good with how the Vikings are trending vs their North cousins.

On 1/15, fans wont remember how decimated the Vikings were. I still think we win the North with KC, team warts and all.

Top-100 picks in 2024 draft:

Packers: 5

Lions:4 \
Bears:3 (including Nos. 1 and 9 overall)

Vikings: 2

 Effective cap space, per OTC:

Lions: $46M

Bears: $36.4M

Vikings: $21.5M

Packers: -$3.5M

For the fairy dusters that can't see the big picture.

And for those wallowing in gloom and self-pity, both Goff and Love are going to get new contracts after the season, so they'll soon be sitting at the big kids table with the rest of us.

And I'm not sure how valid those cap numbers are. I've seen 21M, 37M, 43M and 56M for the Vikings. Either way, ALL of the Viking numbers include a $19M 5th year hit for Jefferson, which will at minimum be cut in half, a $19M hit for the hitman, which will drop to $7M dead with a June 1 release, and a $22M hit for O'Neill which we likely won't be paying (restructure). Vikings have plenty of cap space to contend in 2024 if they choose to.
