Poll -- who do you want as defensive coordinator?

I want who's going to be the NEXT great D coordinator.....not who already is. They're out there. Choose wisely KAMster.
Is it between Evero and Flores? Both are still HC candidates I think. Evero becomes available if he doesn't land a HC job and the Broncos hire Fangio as DC, which seems likely.
Flores is a great choice as well, but could already be in contract negotiation for the HC job in Arizona, but they're interviewing other candidates now, so it seems they may have moved on.
Pettine is qualified, but knowing he had a hand in this year's debacle is unsettling.
Having a hard time seeing Evero go back to Denver after they passed him over for HC, look at Graham for the Giants last year

I want nothing to do with last season's staff and that includes Pettine. Whether it's Evero, Flores, Desai, etc. I want them to bring in their own coaches. There was nothing on our defense that performed to even below average standards so none of them should be back IMO.
Fangio could head to San Fran w/ Ryans moving on, his girlfriend is a dentist there… =)
This seems like a two pony race currently between Evero and Flores. I guess my issue is, what has Brian Flores ever done that makes him such a great candidate? I don't want anybody ever from the Patriots coaching staff not named Belichick and they didnt want him back in New England. That coaching tree have all been epic busts and I'd be leary of the lawsuit and my franchise becoming mixed in with all that. Evero has been a coordinator for one year, and I'm not sure why he'd make a lateral move to Minnesota, especially in light of Sean Payton not getting Fangio. I'd think Evero would be someone he'd want to keep if he doesn't land a head coaching gig.

I'm pretty sure they are waiting on the fate of Flores with regard to the Arizona job. They are looking for someone who fits in with their concept of what they want to be doing on defense; and the delay suggests they feel Flores is the one.

Total yards allowed:2019- 30th
2020- 21st
2021- 15thI just don't see the big deal with Flores and why everybody is clamoring for him outside of just name recognition. That and he's never, as in NEVER been a defensive coordinator at any level. He's in the same lot of Belichick cling on's receiving undue credit for what Belichick was doing in New England.
The team is waiting on both Evero and Flores, that much is obvious. It'll be one of them unless they both decline.

I'm fine with either. But I think there's a pretty good chance both are hired out from under us.

You're right. Anyway we should know something in the next week or so.
New Broncos coach Sean Payton and Ejiro Evero, still under contract as Broncos DC, will talk today about the possibility of him staying. Evero remains a HC candidate in Indy and Arizona and has strong DC interest elsewhere.

Evero might not leave Denver

That's been my point, why would he want to leave Denver for a lateral job with the Vikings?

The connections from the past might be a very good reason. Evero spent time with Kwesi in San
Francisco and 2 years with OConnell with the Rams.
Plus, Evero might hate the thought of looking at Payton's stupid pursed lipped mouth each day in Denver like I would.

Yes but he'd be leaving a top 10 unit and a roster he is already familiar with for what, the Vikings heaping pile of shit on defense? I think if he doesn't get a head coaching job, and Payton want's him, then Payton is going to get him.

You could be right, but I'm glad the Vikes are trying to get their guy.
