As usual with college QBs almost 100% from the shotgun, so he'll need some work under center.  His accuracy does appear to be very good and his arm strength is definitely above average as well.  Throws look almost effortless.  In his pre-season games he did take a couple bad sacks and throw some bad balls though.  The speed of the game seemed a bit much at times and he's got that gun slinger mentality.  What's surprising to me is he isn't an overly shifty/mobile QB, even though he's got the wheels.  He's a pocket type passer.  When he does run, he's got the speed to hurt defenses and get them on bad angles quickly.  But he takes some pretty good shots standing in the pocket.  He needs some refinement and work understanding the game, but he's got the tools and physical traits to be a good QB.  It's just a matter if he can put them all together and the required NFL speed.

I tend to agree with this.  Any team that loses a starter this weekend will be looking hard at a promising young guy to bring into the fold.

Anyone that loses a starter won't be looking at Sloter.  That is why Denver released him, they needed to get someone who could be counted on this year.

Unless your defense is top 3 or so in the league and genuinely special, i tend to disagree.  you lose a starter early in the year and your season is likely over,(as hard as it is to find 1,  what are the odds of a team having two sitting around)  at that point as a GM you have your back up plan in place as your #2,  but you should be looking at the future,  you need to bring in another QB to fill out your roster,  do you bring in a journeyman off the streets that is likely no better than you current #2 or #3 guy, or do you grab a young guy that shows a shit ton of raw potential and give them a roster spot in a season where you are just hoping to do good enough to not lose your job, but bad enough to get some decent draft picks.

maybe you can find another proven starter on another roster and give up a first and a 4th for them,  but I wouldnt count on it.  Us getting Sam is a little lightning in a bottle -esque IMO.

I don't think Sloter belongs on an active roster at this point.  If he did, it is likely he would already be there rather than our practice squad.

No. My God, the kid played in UNC in Greeley fer cryin' out loud. And didn't play much there either. He really shouldn't be active for anyone. If you let defenses game plan him, you could really do some damage to the kid. But his future is damned exciting. If Teddy comes back healthy, this team will go into next season with Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Sloter. Pert'near a year ago at this time, the only viable QB on the roster was Shaun Hill. Joel Stave was his backup, and that was it! What a difference a year makes. Oh, and we drafted Dalvin Cook, too. Wow.

Nobody is saying play him,  just use a roster spot to protect him.  Seriously,  teams get retarded when it comes to QBs,  what's it hurt to put him on the 53 and just deactivate him all season?

His potential is either there or it isnt,  if he is worth they hype then imo he is worth what are basically protected practice squad spots.
