Zimmer said Wyatt Davis missed Saturday’s practice because of an injury. “He’s a lot better” today, per Zimmer, but it’s unclear whether he’ll be back during the first day of pads.

The #Vikings also worked out former Hawaii star QB Cole McDonald today, per source. Another option depending how things go today with the current QB depth chart of Jake Browning and Case Cookus. twitter.com/tompelissero/s…

Vikings also won’t be in pads today, because of the new league rule that requires the first padded practice to be 48 hours after the first day off. They’ll be in pads tomorrow.

#Vikings QB Jake Browning said he’s heard his whole career that he doesn’t have a strong arm, so he spent the offseason learning how to become a “rotational athlete” by working on getting more hip and should disassociation, creating more torque on his throws

Jake Browning was a 4-star recruit. He started all 4 years at Washingt and won 39 starts, the most ever by a Pac-12 QB. Going undrafted/being on Minnesota's practice squad the last 2 years was a different experience for someone used to playing a ton.

Wyatt Davis is here and has a wrap around his left ankle. He’s getting some work done with trainers during practice. Christian Darrisaw is still not practicing. Mike Zimmer said Saturday he thought he’d be back this week but wasn’t sure on timetable.

Correction: Reported Saturday night that Kellen Mond was vaccinated. That is not true. Been told by multiple people he was following protocols for unvaccinated players before testing positive. It's why he was testing in the first place. Unvaxxed tested daily. Sorry to mislead.

#Vikings TE Irv Smith Jr. is a popular breakout candidate this year and he’s living up to the hype in camp. His routes have been sharp and his catch radius is impressive. Just made a leaping grab to move the chains on third down in a situation drill.
