Day 4 Covid Camp Notes
The #Vikings are expected to be without three quarterbacks -- including starter Kirk Cousins -- for tonight's practice after rookie Kellen Mond tested positive for COVID-19, per league sources.

Cousins is a high-risk close contact. The team is going through contact tracing.
I’m told Jake Browning is expected to get all the reps tonight at QB for Minnesota’s primetime practice on @nflnetwork https://t.co/bBRCpZ1IcM

It will be interesting to see how the NFL protocols play out with tonight's practice.
#Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said he can't talk about any specific names about those in COVID-19 protocols.: Says "that's why people should get vaccinated."

@"MaroonBells" said:It means he and Stanley both are NOT vaccinated. Browning is, so he does not need to be quarantined. Stanley has f'd himself trying to make the team. He would have played half the game if vaccinated. Maybe this will convince other Vikings to get vaccinated.@"Nichelle" said: https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1421580056200110087?s=20 What does it mean by Cousins is a 'high-risk' close contact?
@"MaroonBells" said:I wondered that too. The only conclusion I could come to was vaccine status.@"Nichelle" said: https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1421580056200110087?s=20 What does it mean by Cousins is a 'high-risk' close contact?Jake Browning is expected to get all the reps at today’s practice. Browning is vaccinated, Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune reports, and no quarantine is required for vaccinated players who are close contacts.
The Vikings are going through contact tracing to determine who else is a high-risk contact.

The simple truth is that with the delta variant, if you are not vaccinated, you are going to miss games. It is much more contagious and there are going to be outbreaks even among vaccinated players. I imagine it will affect the composition of the roster -- not just the cutting of players at the backend of the roster but how many players you keep at any position. For instance, if Harrison Smith is not vaccinated (as rumor has it), no way do the Vikes go with only 2 safeties like last year -- probably 4 safeties just because Smith is not vaccinated. It will definitely be another factor in the composition of the roster.

I was hoping he had asthma or something. He's not VACCINATED?? STILL? Our starting QB??? I don't know whether to laugh, cry or shatter something against the wall. The good thing, i suppose, is that there is plenty of time to sort this out. But it would be just like the Vikings to have their promising season derailed by the stupidest thing in the history of stupid things.

Cousins, Thielen and Smith are supposedly not vaccinated. I will remain guarded about the season.
DUMB SHITS.
But get it over now. Season is still 30+ days away.
@"rf54" said: so Browning will make the team...Yes, Stanley has basically cut himself if he doesn't get vaccinated. It is really that simple.

When other teams are touting 90+% vaccinated and we have star players saying they aren’t getting it, that’s not ideal. In a league where most of the games are decided by one score this is a big deal.Hopefully a wake up call.
There are super stars, and team starters all over the league reluctant to be vaccinated. But those on the bubble are shooting themselves in the foot if they don't get the vaccination.
I don't think Zim could be more clear.
Jake Browning is expected to be the only quarterback of Minnesota's 4 available for tonight's practice. Could it help him further his chances for the No. 2 job?

I guess this kinda changes the requirements of being a team player. If you still have doubts, God or science you can walk away. I did, vaccinated but not willing to expose myself to the floor folk. Office no problem, they hit herd % a few months ago.
This comment on the video made me laugh...
Today seems like the right day for some wildcat plays.

Also, a friend is at training camp tonight and mentioned that after a shaky start, Jake is looking pretty good. So, there's that.
