Day 4 Covid Camp Notes
The #Vikings are expected to be without three quarterbacks -- including starter Kirk Cousins -- for tonight's practice after rookie Kellen Mond tested positive for COVID-19, per league sources.

Cousins is a high-risk close contact. The team is going through contact tracing.
Practice is over. Browning had a really darn good night. He cemented himself as the favorite for QB2 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it stay that way. Mond had a long ways to go even before he tested positive for COVID.

Yes, Vikings, I am personally so glad to have this guy back.

Damn Gotta get me one of those hats Zimm was wearing, the gut is ALready.
No surprise someone who said, " I’m going to go about my daily life. If I get it, I’m going to ride it out. I’m going to let nature do its course. Survival-of-the-fittest kind of approach. And just say, if it knocks me out, it knocks me out. I’m going to be O.K. You know, even if I die. If I die, I die. ", wouldn't take the shot.
Just as I started to believe again, it appears it could be another excuse filled and dramatic season.
Another Vikings season!
On the other hand, the entire NFL season could become a shit show with the current protocols in place.
40% of me is furious. 60% is falling over laughing because OF COURSE it's the Vikings that this happens to.
I figure this will go through the team like rolling blackouts. Just when the QB's are back, Harrison Smith tests positive. When he comes back, DING!, time for Theilen to pop. Then back to the QB's in a Mobius strip of stupid.

Mr Browning is getting lots of love.
QB2 decision is always tough becuz normally the battle is throwin to WR3, WR4 & WR5.#Vikings QB Jake Browning was given a huge opportunity to throw to WR1a, WR1b & TE1 tonight. When u get your chance u have to make the best of it in the NFL.

Browning showed he can get it done.

This team always finds a way. It's the best I've felt about a Vikings roster in years and then we have this.

Yeah I was feeling pretty good after training camp yesterday and today that has been taken down a notch. Ugh.

Y'know, this sounds tough in a Hollywood-movie-starring-Vin-Diesel-kinda-way, but way to make it all about you, Kirk. Football is a team sport. Fucking moron.
If the vaccine doesn't prevent transmission of the delta variant, the NFL might have to reconsider their Covid policies, which are all based off that idea. It doesn't make much sense to have all the vaccinated people running around without precautions or testing, partying at bars, spreading Covid to each other and the non-vaccinated, while the non-vaccinated are following a more disciplined plan to prevent transmission.
If the risk is purely on the individual with regards to how bad the symptoms will be or how large of a risk of death they'll have, then the restrictions have a lot less meaning.

God bless the current ones as they allowed a significant re-opening of economies and lives. But the next ones? Also needs to stop transmission which allows mutation.
Is it just a matter of time until a new mutation appear? One that totally defeats current tracing technology and cannot suppress deadly side effects?
Lets get back to a happier topic - like Dozier starting @ RG.

Biology is a system of chaos, good luck predicting outcomes of mutations. Most are fatal to the organism, but the more mutations you have the probability of a pernicious one developing increases. Just do the best you can, we are back to masking when we go inside. I am seeing more folks doing the same

it rings of “tell me you are a fan of nutball theology without telling me you’re a fan if nutball theology”.

Are you following how Briton is opening up? Cases are going down and they also have an 80% vaccination rate. Man I just hoped we were beyond this, but F no. I am afraid of what is going to happen this fall, Our state fair is less than 2 weeks away. Going to be a shit show.

But hasn't this view evolved (not changed)....Vaccinated people can carry (and transmit) hi loads of Covid in nose and throat. It most likely wont kill you if you're vaccinated, but you can still spread it. Hence the new reco's to wear masks indoors.
