The Minnesota Vikings released quarterback Wes Lunt and signed former Stanford linebacker Noor Davis, the team announced Friday.
Davis collected 67 tackles — including 2.5 for loss — and two interceptions while playing in 36 career games for the Stanford Cardinal.

I've been reading that Heinicke has stood out the past couple days.  Showing good arm strength, anticipation, and hitting guys down field.  If he's really looking that good, it may have played into the decision to release Lunt...
