Everson Griffen to Sign Extension This Morning
Also, two reasons why they're extending Griffen now.
1. None of his base salaries were guaranteed in either 2017/2018 making security a concern for him
2. The new deal will allow the Vikings to front load their cap space now to make an extension for Danielle Hunter much easer in the 2019 off-season
Vikings finalizing extension for Everson Griffen

APThe Vikings are close to wrapping up a new contract with pass-rusher Everson Griffen.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Vikings are finalizing a four-year extension with Griffen which should allow him to finish his career there.
The 29-year-old Griffen had two years left on his existing deal, and was set to make $6.9 million this year and $8.4 million in 2018.
The former fourth-round pick has found his stride with the Vikings, with 30.5 sacks the last three seasons, including 8.0 last year.
He’s also been incredibly durable, as he’s only missed one game over the last six seasons.
Wow...straight out of leftfield...hopefully Rhodes is next...
I don't know S about front office, cap space, etc. but it seems like the Vikes do a pretty good job of keeping the guys they want without sacrificing the future.

Possibly Linval.

But boy, he'll sure be earning that salary now with so many assets to try and budget/forecast for.@"Vanguard83" said: I don't know S about front office, cap space, etc. but it seems like the Vikes do a pretty good job of keeping the guys they want without sacrificing the future. Giddy-up on Linval...Hope they leave some $ for a qb and the offensive side of the ball :)
Didn't see this one coming this soon. Linval would make sense. Barr could be another possibility I suppose.

His value is low right now, he would probably bet on himself having a better year. And injuries have hampered him, so the Vikings might be wary.
Massive sounds a bit over the top... I hope. Griff is a stud but Massive money scares me a bit as there is a lot of talent out there still. But as has been pointed out... Brez has done an outstanding job in the past.
My favorite player on the team: still underrated. He's a force. Uber athletic. Hustle machine. A beast.
Good to hear, and making space for Bradford too B)
