He was back home in Houston after a free-agent visit to New Orleans. He was praying for a sign. Saints? PatriotsSeahawks? Another team? Then one day he was looking for a duffel bag in his home office. Things were out of place because the house was being cleaned, and he couldn't find the bag. So instead he grabbed a black leather bag he'd had for years. It had a piece of tape on it. Peterson had forgotten why it was there. He tore off the tape.
And there was his sign.
The logo of the New Orleans Saints.
As the piece rolls on, it becomes clearer and clearer that head coach Sean Payton was the driving force in what brought one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in NFL history to the Saints.

"I loved his honesty," Peterson said. "He was straightforward. I could sense he really wanted me to be a part of the organization. All coaches want to win, but you can see it more with him. He's very passionate about what he does. About 98 percent of the time, he was doing the talking."
Peterson is also going to have the chance to play with arguably the best quarterback he has been around in Drew Brees.
"I was attracted to playing with Brees, a guy who is good at distributing the ball to different players," he said. "I know in this system, I'll get some opportunities to catch the ball in space. Drew Brees, he'll get the ball to me."

Do you feel it or hope it? I'll admit I would chuckle happily if Peterson loses a fumble or two...bobbles and drops one of those screen passes he claims to suddenly be enamored with...blows a pass-protection assignment that leads to an easy sack...finishes the game with <2.0 ypc...

...involving a "switch" from a tree.  Lots of spitting and swatting.

@ Jor-El I would say a little bit of both. I can see him being so amped up to play that he doesn't settle in right away. I am also interested in the fan response. I know we'll cheer him pregame. Thanks for the memories. But come kick off, he is on the opposition. A team with a POS for a coach. And it's the season opener on 9/11. I want everyone bringing their A game and leave it all on the field. I want them focused and ready to go.

It will be a real interesting game when Peterson and out defense are on the field.  The Viking players will be chomping on the bit to lay some wood on Peterson.  Also, the Defense probably wants to give notice to the rest of the teams that they are as good as they are said to be.

I believe that incident involved Smith and Harvin.

Smith bumped into Harvin on a pass play during a non-contact practice.  Harvin felt it was harder than it should of been and got all butt hurt over it.
