HEY, NOLAN!
Is your phone charged up? Seattle, SF, and Chicago all got better the last couple days.

I love the
BIG TRADE, Vikings sign 2. And then go on to mention the two TEs that were signed.

Tell em not for more than a 2nd.
The more I think about trading for Jonathon Taylor, the more I realize what a weird place it'd put the roster in.
Currently we have a short, shotgun-loving, quick passing, scrambling, TE-targeting Quarterback. Which is something KO has traditionally not valued at all.
Jonathon Taylor is an incredibly talented running back... Which is something KO has traditionally not valued at all.
On paper an offense with JT, Jefferson, Kyler and co. is a JUGGERNAUT. And RBs are more plug n play than Quarterbacks. But is KO the guy to make all these pieces mesh? Four years ago I'd have said yes, KO will have this baby humming 100%.
But after a year and a half of watching Jefferson and Addison get underfed to the point of starvation, I don't know anymore. As much as I wanna believe JT is our savior so they should do the damn deal already, there's an equal if not greater chance he's fools gold. But there's only one way to find out. High stakes.

Indy sure could use a WR…

Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are free agents at the end of this season, so we're going to have to use a high draft pick on a running back anyway. If we can get JT for a second, particularly with KOC trying to emphasize the run game, I say the Vikes about have to do it.

Great point
This is totally reckless speculation on my part, sooooooooooo…
Deal is already done. Hold up on it being announced is getting Taylor’s contract redone. And maybe Addison’s contract.

Yup. We’re currently going into 27 with Claiborne under contract. That’s it.

There definitely seems to be some smoke to a trade, likely waiting until after Sunday game to announce for salary cap reasons. It does sound like Guard and blocking TE are still in play as well. So there will likely be some additional salary cap maneuvering.
Vikings Picks
1st
2nd
3rd - Eagles pick
3rd Vikings pick
5th Panthers Pick
5th Giants Pick
5th Vikings Pick
6th Patriots
6th Jets
6th Compensatory
2nd for Taylor helps not only this year but also fixes 2027 and 2028 and would have likely needed to use a 2 on a RB anyways. Salary will be high - which could affect QB and future defensive contracts. Could affect resigning Redmond. I would think they would request an additional pick as well. I would prefer not to - but if its later fine.
You would then have a 3rd round, 5th, and 6th for additional ammo either for in Taylor trade or for guard and blocking TE. Honestly, pick and cap wise it looks solid. I see minimal possibility of being able to get a QB like Kirk on the roster. Cap wise will be too difficult to manuever. So without killing future pick or cap flexibility, we do have the ability to significantly help this years team.

Dont have to convince me, I'm one of the remaining few who haven't forgotten what it was like to have a premiere RB...

Defenses like the 2026 Vikings only come along for a team once or twice in a lifetime. We are certainly not assured of having the same coach and players next year. And sooner or later the league will adjust, just like the league did to the 46 defense of the 1985 Bears. If we don't go all in now ... then when?
