#Vikings OLB Tyler Batty suffered a torn ACL in Friday’s preseason finale and is going on season ending IR, per @TomPelissero.

Have to figure Minnesota will add a depth piece now. pic.twitter.com/1Kqgzjsz83

Indeed, Vikings edge rusher Tyler Batty tore his ACL and is headed to season-ending IR. A brutal one for a dude who had a really good camp. Adds more attention to edge rusher depth situation.

Damn, was thinking he was gonna be counted on in Edge rotation
The #Vikings are trading OL Walter Rouse to the #Patriots for a 6th rounder/7th round flop, per @RapSheet. https://t.co/5N2GgUTUBW pic.twitter.com/ZkhZE0yVUg

That really sucks
The Vikings are trading T/G Walter Rouse to the Patriots, per source. The team is including a 2027 7th and receiving a 2027 6th in return. Rouse had a notable preseason, which caught the eyes of a few NFL teams. He lands in New England.

I didn’t have get draft comp for Rouse on my bingo card.
A note on the Walter Rouse deal — the pick the Vikings sent to the Patriots is originally from Philadelphia, and the pick the Vikings received back was originally Minnesota’s. https://t.co/CoN4hVU8mT

Reminds me of the Vederian Lowe trade a few years ago. Both 6th round draft picks traded to New England for 6th round draft picks a year or two after drafting them.

1st player Kevin O'Connell mentioned last week when asked re: edge depth: "Tyler Batty's been a guy you guys have probably seen jump out in-game as well when he's gotten his opportunities. He's one of the better special teams, 4-phase players we have ... Tyler's had a great camp" https://t.co/jgG5TB2HbY

Despite any speculation that he could be released or traded, Minnesota QB J.J. McCarthy finished cutdown day on the Vikings’ 53-man roster. pic.twitter.com/gtyecBT1ce

What I understood last week, and remains the case: the situation here had not gotten to the point where the Vikings would just give him away. https://t.co/6EdTfSFsSQ

So we ended up getting Claiborne for free?
This might be the weirdest 53 I’ve seen coming out of training camp. Probably several changes coming before we actually play.

Pretty sunny in LA right now...
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
The #Vikings have signed S/ST ace Tavierre Thomas to their practice squad, per @Schultz_Report: https://t.co/wu0mg3bWPM

This dude is ass....but the X fanboys wanted to get him in the Hall of Fame over one preseason pass.
