Potential GMs

I was hoping they could sway Paton to come back. A huge no to Brez after this draft. Do not love the options there, do not like the way the Lions run their team, would be a no for me there. Out of that list, McKay interests me, because of the family history and love the Rams personnel philosophy, but he must be super young.
How is Seattle assistant GM Nolan Teasley not on that list? To me, he and McKay would be the two top candidates. We really need a qualified outside perspective and not someone who has been part of the playoff impotence of the last 20 years.
lol, this is speculation only from some bot X account. Let's watch the process play out before fans start shitting on everything GM search related. My god the whining already in April.....p.s. not directed at you, JIT.

Who's whining? First off, you know the Wilfs will screw it up in some regard, and secondly, nothing wrong with a little speculating on who SHOULD be on that short list
Also, if those two dolts are using the same "process" that yielded them Kwesi...they should be drug out of Winter Park and flogged in the streets

I hope we seriously look into candidates from the Rams, Eagles, Seattle, KC, and Ravens front offices. They've all done well drafting for the past 10-20 years and it would be nice to get someone who's been a part of their scouting and football operations to bring that experience here.

That would be ideal.

Lots of really good young candidates out there.
The tie into Spytek should make at least one guy happy 😎

Meh, give me McKay or Teasley for this round.
I still don't get the pandering to OConnell and why he gets to dictate who the next GM is. He's never won shit, yet is now calling ALL the shots for this franchise. How about the owners just pick the best guy for the job with the best resume and long term vision in making this team a consistent Super Bowl contender? If they did that last time instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, Spytek would probably be our GM currently. Is it nice to have the head coach in lockstep with the GM, absolutely, but realistically if this team shits the bed this year....good chance OConnell isn't back, so giving him a "say" in who gets the new GM job is ridiculous in my opinion.
Career started at 12 years old.

I don't understand why KOC and Flores need a say in who they hire as GM other then to try and save their ass if the season goes to hell. Bring in the best person to be GM and if those two don't like the choice well then just deal with it. KOC and Flores have got the Wilf's believing they are some sort of experts in all things related to football. Note to Ziggy and Mark get some big balls and hire the best person available no matter what KOC and Flores think.

It would be foolish not to get their input. Or at least input from your current HC. The most important relationships in an NFL organization is the one between your HC and GM and your HC and your starting QB. If those aren't working, you're fucked.
Halaby, Kirchner or McKay please...in no order.
I'm not convinced GM is a job Brez aspires to at this point in his career.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I think you take their opinions into consideration, but ultimately you have to pick the best candidate to get this team to the Super Bowl regardless of their opinions. What if you hire based on their opinions, the season goes to shit, OConnell gets canned and Flores takes another job? Then you've screwed yourself by hiring OConnell's weekend golf buddy instead of hiring the best long term candidate for the job. No thanks. We've done enough foolishness in the GM hiring department.

I agree, I would want the finalists for the position to have 1 on 1s with both Flores and KOC, both the candidate and the coach can think they are interviewing the other if it makes them feel better, but I want to know what each party thinks of the other, with no wrong answers. If somebody really stands out but is a little off with the coaches, that might not be a terrible thing as long as they are able to be civil with each other and talk through things.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I think you have this backward. It should be the relationships is the one between the GM and the HC because in the end the HC reports to the GM not the other way around. Hiring a GM because he may be buddies with the head coach is short sighted in the NFL.
