He might be the best of what's left in free agency. I think we need to add another receiver, but if it's not Jennings, we'd be looking at the likes of Diggs, Deebo Samuel, Hopkins, Keenan Allen, and that type of market. Does Tyreek Hill have anything left?

Ugh. No thank you to Diggs, Hopkins, Allen or Hill. 2 are head cases and not worth the baggage. Hopkins and Allen are fossils.

Which is why I was saying that I was a bit surprised we didn't draft a receiver early unless the team has complete confidence in Tai Felton filling that role and I'm not sure after last year how that could be the case. Maybe he turns out to be a reliable contributer, but for someone who hardly played, that is a big roll of the dice when we know how important multi-receiver sets are in O'Connells offense. There is zero, and I mean zero...behind Felton. So adding a veteran makes a ton of sense to me, but it's a bad list of available free agent options

Caldwell in the 7th who they had met with made so much sense, nothing to lose, thought for sure they would take him, but went with his center who would have been much easier to sign as a UDFA, of course Caldwell preferred to go play with Mahomes when it was his option.

They had a number of excellent options throughout the draft. As a USC fan and someone who has watched every snap Lemon has played, no way I would have passed on him when he fell to us, watched both Addison and him at USC and feel that Lemon was a way better overall player while there, not even close. He reminds me of a Steve Smith clone, ultra competitive, plays hard every play, always open. He never disappeared at points during a game like Addison did at USC and does now.

I was going to ask you about Lemon. I thought he was a stud every time I watched him. When he dropped and landed at #18, I was shocked, and even more shocked that we passed on him. Banks could ultimately end up a better player, but I thought Lemon was a sure thing

I'm confused: I thought you didn't want a WRer in round 1? You said it would be a job-saving move only for KOC? The team needed to draft a WRer in any of the first two rounds like another hole in the head. Lemon is also a bit of a head case....talented, yet goofy.

KOC values versatility in his WRs. Lemon is a slot only. It's obvious that they wanted Banks. But even if they didn't it wouldn't have been Lemon.

Or maybe Eddie Murphy doing Stevie Wonder. He does this for like a solid minute or two in this interview. No wonder his team interviews at the combine did not go well.

No, what I said was, taking a receiver would make sense in a potential make or break year for him with how important that 3rd receiver role in this offense. I thought Lemon was gift wrapped to us. Now I look at our collective of weapons on offense and we don't have a whole lot outside of Jefferson and Addison. Hockenson? He might be cooked or at least has not been the same guy he was prior to the knee injury. The RB room is unimpressive. I thought we could have used a jolt of energy on offense. Maybe that's Murray, but I don't think anybody knows how this odd pairing of Murray in the KOC offense is going to work out

It is and it isn't. Nailor had 29 catches for the season filling in for Addison the first 3 games and operating as the #3 the rest of the year. Even if you add in Thielen's 8 catches, we're still talking about 2 receptions and a couple targets per game on average.

We're still going to force feed Jefferson and give Addison his 1v1 opportunities but there just aren't enough targets to go around when you consider Hock, Oliver, and Aaron Jones are going to be getting theirs too.

Obviously it would be great to have someone step in for potential injuries to our top 2 guys, but we can add a veteran to round out the group. Most teams don't even have two guys as good as JJ and Addison and we're making a big deal about having another stud as our WR3?

We had problems passing the football last year for numerous reasons. Scheme, McCarthy, offensive line injuries, and the list goes on. I wouldn't qualify last year as an outlier going forward on the importance of the 3rd receiver in this offense. As mentioned, it would have given us a quality option in case of injury or Addison stupidity, and we run more 11 personnel than just about any team in the league. Receivers are of paramount importance in this offense. We literally know nothing about Tai Felton, but at this point he'll be that 3rd guy, so I hope he is ready to produce because we'll need him

I think a vet is definitely coming and in order to round out the room....bigger guy at 6'3", just 28 years old.
