I thought Turner played a helluva game yesterday. Definitely played better than I envisioned he would.

He had both his hands on him on a crucial play and could not bring him down, Williams easily shook him off.

Believe me Turner is not the first person Williams has done that to.

This.

Despite setting a record last season for being sacked, Williams is incredibly hard to tackle and bring down. I watched him do the most Houdini shit ever against my Irish in college and again last Sunday. He is slippery and has the lower body of a running back.

Greenard has had issues bringing Williams down.  Caleb is a difficult QB to bring down.

As to Turner, it is obvious we only have one Van Ginkel and he fills a unique role.  But Turner seemed to play well in Greenards spot.   Our D was pretty solid.

Turner tends to tackle high by grabbing shoulders and wrapping around the neck.  Need to get lower and wrap up to stop a strong, elusive runner like Williams.

lets also point out that the protections given to QBs now have made them all into Earl Campbells, with that said, Turner needs to improve his finish work as going high is an easy way for the QB to escape, but also a much quicker way to a cheap 15 yarder, you see Mahomes and others calling for that flag anytime somebody comes near their heads.

Greenard inactive today against the Packers. Will get another healthy dose of evaluation on Dallas Turner today

Jeez...Everything printed on Greenard this week was arrow-up on him playing today.

Then this today..

The Vikings are the healthier team, but will be without edge rusher Jonathan Greenard (shoulder injury). The Packers are without their leading rusher, Josh Jacobs (knee), and their leading tackler, linebacker Quay Walker (neck).

Did I hear that right?… Dallas Turner has now gone three consecutive games with a sack (he just sacked Darnold). Good for him

Sack #2 for Turner. This one is a sack fumble and Vikings ball.

I think he's really thriving in that more pass rush only responsibility set.

For what it's worth, he now leads the team in sacks playing in a part time roll.

2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.  The kid has a future.

Defense was bringing it, 4 sacks against a QB that didn't have to hold the ball at all.  Our offense had one drive threaten to score and we pissed it away giving them a gift defensive TD.

IIRC that scoring threat came off of one of Turners strip sacks,   it wasn't an offensive drive at all,  the O was gifted that field position and then instead of taking the gifted 3 points KOC once again puts it on his young QBs by going for it on 4th down and Brosmer made a bone headed mistake.

I've been hard on Dallas in the past, but PLEASE let this season be the year he continues to show out. We need him to be an impact player year in and year out moving forward.

We need more young players like Turner and Redmond on this defense.

Sadly, with some offense to partner with? They could have had a much better year as a unit. Hard to always be playing from behind.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I think they drove from midfield down to inside the 10.  So it was a semblance of a drive.

they took over at the seattle 13,  got it down to the 4 for a 4th and 1,  so it was a 9 yard drive before the bone head throw of the year,  which is saying something because we have seen  some doozies this year already.

Ok I will take your word for it. And now that you mention it, I sort of recall that as well.  Guess my memory was being optimistic.  Must be a coping mechanism.

we had a 47 yard drive that ended in the pick that Nailor ended up popping out and recovering ( nice hustle work by the kid there)
