Vikings @ Chargers
Chargers -3
This isn’t the same Charger team we expected when the schedule came out. But neither are the Vikings. Chargers have the 3rd ranked passing offense and a mid-tier running game, further weakened by the loss of Harris and Hampton. Defensively, they’re remarkably similar to the Vikings. Vikings rank 7th in pass defense, Chargers 8th. Vikings rank 18th in run defense, Chargers 19th.
I see a bit of a comeback game for Wentz in this one mostly because he should get a little better protection. Tart and Caldwell have been good in the middle for them, but Caldwell’s questionable with an illness and Tart is no Jalen Carter. After trading Bosa, the Chargers are left with a rotation of 36-year-old Khalil Mack, Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree. The Vikings have seen better edge rushers. Darrisaw and O’Neill win this one.
What concerns me is Justin Herbert. This is the best QB the Vikings have faced this year. With all the inuries to the OL, the Chargers have struggled to protect him but he’s still moving the ball well, on pace for 4,500 yards and 32 TDs. If the Vikings aren’t able to get pressure on Herbert (and he may get Joe Alt back for this one), this could be a loooong Thursday night. Bet the over.
...so, we're looking like Pop Warner rejects about half of the time. We get a great TFL on defense, but can't defend a pass in the middle. We can get a 1st down to JJ, but then our RBs and Wentz are both buried much of the time.
Gonna be a 'drinky game'.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

Wentz hurt. Brosmer time
why are qbs allowed to get hit in the head and facemasked

It's hard to blame "Wince" much when he was pressured on something over 60% of his snaps.
Most misleading stat of all time, doesnt account for a QB holding the ball despite open receivers or the down and distance requirements. Pretty much worthless metric.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
We can't stop a pass across the middle, at all...!
Flores, if you can't fix this, we might give him too much credit.
3rd TD against us, we can't stop their pass game at all.
Holy s**t, this is a festival of pain.

Kind of seem out of place to be smiling.

No shit. Lots of yuks b/t wentz-McCown
Not privy to the convos, but rubs me the wrong way.
Hot dog shit
Yeah, not a good look with the laughing on the sideline when you are getting your a** handed to you on National TV. That half was possibly the worst half of football I have seen from the Vikes as far as I can remember. I hope a different team comes out of the visitor's locker room after the half.
The only thing I’ve learned from this game is Prime NBA pregame show is must watch tv.
Holy smoke show.

Smith and metellus abused by Gadsden/mcconkey, and Hebert runs.
Sawft Vikings D. Sawft.
Hard to watch
Justin Jefferson is livid walking into the locker room. Josh McCown came over to tap him to try to keep him uplifted. Walking very slowly in, alone.
