Parsons traded to the Pack...

Clark is going to be 30 this year and played all 17 games last season to the tune of 1 whopping sack. I'm surprised they didn't ask for Wyatt, Walker or some combo with Van Ness
Don't underestimate what Kenny Clark meant to that defense. Think Henry Thomas. He will be missed for sure.
I'm also really surprised they'd trade him within the conference Strange

I am too, but we've seen stranger things over the years...
Gutekunst came to the bargaining table loaded for bear.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
Interesting, I don't expect splash moves from the Pack. Parsons won't be as fast on grass in the elements as he is on turf indoors.
They probably feel they are doing Reggie White all over again but Parsons and Love ain't White and Favre. It makes them a little better but I expect the hype machine will crank up and start crowning their asses as of now.
Dallas got fleeced, Clark had 1 or 2 sacks in '24 and 20 tackles. He turns 30 in Oct.
People sleep peacably at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Yah, I dont recall him being the disruptor I remember in yesteryears...
Parsons is the real deal and he's young.
NFL D MVP caliber...
The question is Jordan Love. If Love pans out? Sticky might be right about GB vying for a Lombardi with this group.

Good thing we've got a mobile QB now. Son of a b#$%h.

They got 2x 1sts and didn’t have to pay Parsons. This isn’t the catastrophe people think it is. Losing those 1sts hurt long term for the packers.
Listen, if you want to tell yourselves some fairytales, I can't stop you but this elevates Green Bay to NFC Superbowl level elite. Trust me, I wish I could say differently.
Well, shit. Anyway, best way to slow down Parsons: run right at him.
I would be more concerned if Clark hadn't been part of the trade, and we didn't have one of the best sets of bookends in the business.
Parsons will get his on occasion, but I dont see him taking over a game for them without clark making a mess of the middle, but we will see.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Parsons will definitely improve their pass rush which has been lacking since Zadarius and Preston Smith got old and less effective (and left the team). Rashan Gary can't finish, but maybe he'll get more flushed to him with Parsons on the other side. Van Ness is largely a bust as a pass rusher.
This makes their defense more dangerous, but they have concerns in the secondary too. If anything this gets them closer to us (assuming JJ McCarthy is good), but they haven't passed us or Detroit IMO.
I think there is too much emotion going both ways. Green Bay got better, but I don't think this elevated them to NFC Elite. I mean look at Dallas with CeeDee, Dak, good OL, and a solid defense with Parsons. Is Green Bay set up any better than Dallas at key spots?

Our OL protection got much better with the four, count-em four upgrades. Darrisaw who was gone most of the season, Fries, Jackson, and Kelly. I have to believe line against line that we've won that improvement game and we beat them twice last year. We improved at WR and probably broke even at QB. Overall, our Defense improved immensely on paper and in versatility. I have to believe we're still the better team. They added WR help, but we added a fierce pass rush and will be much stouter against the run.
Serious question right now, who do you pick-
Jonathon Greenard at 4 Years $76. Last Year 12 Sacks 59 Tackles 18 Tackles for loss 4 Forced Fumbles 12.8% Pass Rush win rate
Micah Parsons at 4 years $188. Last year 12 sacks 43 Tackles 12 Tackles for loss 2 forced fumbles 20.2% Pass Rush win rate
Is Parsons one of the best pass rushing Defensive Ends? Absolutely - that pass rush win rate is amazing. Is he not as stout against the run. Absolutely. The pack also got weaker on run defense with trading Clark. So they improved their pressure from the D-Line on passing downs but took a step back in run defense and spent a lot of money they can't use elsewhere and lost draft picks. These contracts will lineup ever year except the last 1. I take the Greenard deal every day of the week and I don't look back.

I said two words on this board a month ago when someone brought up the idea of going after Parsons--overrated and overpaid. At 47 mil the latter is absolutely true.
I'm not a Skip Blowhard fan but what he says here I mostly agree with.
Kenny Clark is borderline washed but Dallas can supposedly cut him after this season if they want, and Green Bay picked up 95% of his tab for this season too. From that standpoint he's an extremely low-risk add for Dallas with short-term upside.
Two firsts is also nice. The fact they weren't able to get more doesn't tell me DALLAS GOT FLEECED like some are saying. It tells me there's a lot of owners not excited about paying a defensive player $50M/yr. Maybe they should have gotten more but Dallas did okay.
Green Bay- Their defense got a lot scarier. Micah is a great add for them at a reasonable price. This will either be the "missing piece" narrative and GB will be an elite team. Or this will be an act of desperation that doesn't pan out for a team overpaying a shaky QB. Tough to say which way this will go for them, but Green Bay is all-in now. Personally before this trade I had them with the Bears at the bottom of the North this season, now I'm not sure.
