I hope Addison has the feeling while standing on the sideline for the next 3 games that he let his teammates down. This probably will have the most effect on him about the decisions he makes going forward.

As expected. Maybe superstar Tai Felton can fill in ;)

2 strikes on this kid. Hopefully he has grown up.

One would hope. But extreme youth and extreme money are a bad combo. I remember thinking after his 3 am 140 mph race to save his, um, "dog," that it could serve as a wake up call without serious consequence. Apparently not enough. I fear he could have more issues down the road. Helluva receiver though.

The silver lining?
He's owned up to his shortcomings, and the team has had all off-season and training camp to prepare for this.
I believe this is one of the reasons they selected Felton from Maryland in the draft.

Good god, could you imagine if Jett’s hamstring is a bigger deal.

Have not heard much about Felton in any of the camp reports, was hoping he was going to be able to step into the 3rd WR spot and be able to contribute with Addison out.

He got suspended due to his own decisions

Someone told him  this was  coming about  a week ago ,and he proceeded to go bitchy and fragile at training camp.

If  strike #3 arrives,  will anyone be surprised?

I need to take a break from sports Twitter, its pure insanity. Everyone knew the suspension was eventually going to come and now Minnesota needs to 'trade for a WRer' and its a meltdown. Its all so bi-polar and that doesn't even mention all the fake engagement accounts spreading outright lies and exaggeration.

A self imposed mini-break for me is necessary I think until Saturday. Flush the garbage.

I've been reading some of those trade ideas from fairly prominent Viking followers on Twitter. My only question is...are they feckin crazy? With Addison out, Nailor jumps to WR2 and we don't really lose a lot. WR3 and 4 is a battle between Rondale Moore, Lucky Jackson, who's been having a terrific camp, and a 3rd round rookie. Not many teams have that kind of depth.

What's more, it's not like Addison's suspension caught the team by surprise and now they have to fix it. The Vikings likely drafted a WR so high and added Moore precisely because they knew Addison would be out for some games.

Meanwhile, we have Jordan Mason and a 31 year old injury prone back in Jones. Meaning Ty Chandler, who can't pass block, is a twisted ankle from splitting carries. And people think we need to trade for a WR. The mind boggles.

He did?  He's been making plays all over training camp and he's spoken positively about his teammates and hasn't deflected any questions about his arrest last year.

In the interviews I've seen recently, he comes across as a kid who took ownership of his poor decision making.  This was underreported, but he participated in MADD and charity stuff last season of his own accord.  It wasn't NFL mandated.  He also didn't fight it out in court and said he was good with whatever the NFL handed down in terms of a suspension and fines.  Wasn't going to appeal it through the NFLPA.

I mean his words and actions in the past year sure look like a guy who has taken ownership of it and is working to be a better role model and person.

People usually say or do things to correct bad decisions until the fear wears off. Hopefully Addison is the exception and learns from his mistakes. A lot of people don't.

Jefferson is easily my favorite player but unfortunately, hamstring injuries are notoriously lingering for WRs. I hope 3 gets his head on straight, I hope TJ has the dream season we’ve hoped for since he joined the team, and I hope Nailor exceeds my expectations. We have tons of options on offense but if Justin misses time, guys who are capable of stepping up are gonna need to go ahead and do it.

Hock is going to get more targets than WR3 & maybe even WR2. A point never mentioned in these articles.

I think this feels good. We’ll finally get some certainty and get to move past it. 3 games isn’t the worst as long as it doesn’t overlap with other receiving targets going down. A JJ, Hockenson, Nailor group should be fine when mixed with a renewed focus on running the ball, maybe it even gives KOC the incentive to stick with the run a little more?
