This is really sad, to see one of the all time best running backs and Vikings in a place like this playing poker and then getting into a fight. Everyone makes mistakes and you would have hoped he would have learned from his, but continues to do one after another. Luckily he was a better RB than fighter, not sure what the heck is doing there or how some goof ball is getting some jabs in on him.
He is not a very bright person, not sure poker or anything that requires more than luck should be his gambling vice....he's more of a pull tab guy IMO.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
Probably see AD standing in front of a judge a few times before it's all said and done...
After a LOT of counseling and psychiatric work, he'd be a perfect successor to PacMan for lecturing incoming NFL rookies on money, bad decisions, mental states....
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....
No idea if this applies here or not, but financial stress has caused many people from all walks of life to spiral. Hopefully AD's doing okay or if not, can get there. I'd like to see him around the Vikings org for a long time. He earned that on the field imo.

I think I can say that we all were hopeful that AD's legacy would be a positive one, following the path of other former Vikings from Alan Page to Scott Studwell, Chuck Foreman, Tommy Kramer and others who have been visible in the community and have been contributors.
Instead, there was the embarassment of "Switchgate", where he beat his little boy with a tree branch to the point of bleeding. Since then, it has been a series of disappointments in him as a human being.
I watch highlights of him running in those early years. I don't recall any other running back running with such beat down ferocity. He was a force then, he tried to hang around too long, and he made bad decision after bad decision.
The whole AD storyline, since those early seasons, has been fraught with disappointment, both from a declined physical ability and a personal behavior standpoint.

as much as I enjoyed watching him play, I hope he stays away from our young guys. he is in no way a role model, rather a poster child for about everything wrong with being a 20 something millionaire, or being an entitled star athlete. its very apparent listening to him, and seeing how he handled his life, that he likely hasnt passed a school grade on merit since grade school.
I wish him the best, but I dont see the value of keeping him around up and coming young athletes that viewed him as a model of what they wanted to become.

I’m not seeing a redemption arc for a child abuser. As far as him hanging around the organization, I can’t think of too many worse former players to have in their building. Favre. Sharper. Scum of the earth.

It really shouldn't, but it surprises me how many fans make excuses for shitty behavior from shitty people who habitually display shitty behavior. You know if it was a neighbor of the people defending the player they'd be mad shit talking that neighbor for being garbage.
If it's not child abuse that turns some of these people I'm not sure what will do it. Lol some fans get more upset when a player leaves for rival than shit Peterson has done. It's wild!
