Hmmm....I'd like this a lot more if he were our RB2

I got excited thinking it was the "other Jones"

Better edit that title buddy ;)

Good point.

He’ll be the bell cow until he’s not.

Meh I was fine either way. He took some wear and tear, I feel like it's going to be some running back by committee

He can hold his head high:

A fifth-round pick in 2017, Jones spent the first seven seasons of his career in Green Bay. Since he entered the league, he ranks No. 5 in rushing yards (7,078) and No. 9 in yards from scrimmage (9,562). He also has scored 70 touchdowns (50 rushing).

He'll be a great locker-room resource for a rook too...If that happens.

Wonder if the draft focuses on a bigger change of pace guy.

Really dislike this move, not a fan of Jones, did a good job last year, but was always banged up and has no big burst of speed. Two years 20 is way too much. We should be looking for our franchise RB with home run speed to team up with our JJM and JJ, not some RB who is well past his best days.

Interesting.

Typically always banged up guys don’t…checks notes… start 18 out of 18 games, but that could just be me.

Minimal cap impact. Well done.

3.5% of the salary cap is what Jones cost. It’s not some blockbuster deal for a guy who started every game last year.

The contract is very team friendly

We need to commit to the run, this helps. They need to draft a mid round back that will stick his nose in a gap and a LB face, and no more bust picks like Ngwongwu and Chandler. Mattison was close but had very inconsistent vision and pass protection, fatal flaws for an nfl back.

He's a great team player I love his game........

Giving a 30 year old scat back a 2 year 20 million dollar deal is not a move I'd have done..

He'll miss games this year.

If he was a bell cow and under 30 or this wasn't an allegedly draft deep for running backs I'd support it..

Hard to complain about this signing, great locker room guy and a productive RB. Keeps us from forcing a RB pick in the draft, can just use a pick when we feel the value and talent is right.

I think this is a contract that respects the player plus its an easy out that wont hurt the team.

Honestly, I dont think he's more than a 1 year back here on-going. I think it'll be RB by committee in 25 - which is what they wanted in 24 and didnt get.

No way they dont take a back in this draft, just a matter of where/when.

And how many of those games was he not 100% for a game, hence I said always banged up and not always injured.

Maybe the two games he didn’t lead the team in rushing? To me, 2 out of 18 doesn’t seem statistically significant. But, again, maybe that’s just me.

6 games of less than 48 yards and only went over 100 yards twice and that was barely.  Great if you think that kind of production for a guy on the decline is worth signing up for two more years of, that is your prerogative.  In a RB rich draft, I would rather look for a franchise back there.

Well, if most rushing yards in his career and second most receiving yards is in decline, let’s hope he declines some more in 2025.

Maybe I don’t understand your interpretation of the word decline?

Didn’t realize signing Jones keeps us from drafting another RB. I’ll adjust future mocks.
