Whoa. Wonder what the Mavs know that the rest of us don't? Blockbuster.

He really has issues off the court. His work ethic is awful. Has been known to be lazy. Conditioning is a big concern. That is starting to catch up with him as the years go on. I think the Mavs just saw the writing on the wall.

He is overweight and out of shape. His stamina and endurance are low. He could be so much better, and he is a great player, but if he was in better shape he would be better and have less injuries. They are looking to the future. Maybe they think LeBron's work ethic and discipline will rub off on him.

NBA viewership is collapsing.

Players, owners and coaches going full woke has alienated half it's fan base.

To get Luka for Davis is an absolute steal, one of the best players in the NBA who is 25 for a 31 year old Davis whose body is much older than his age and is constantly injured and not at full strength. I would have traded Davis for much less. Once again, Lakers manage to trade for a superstar, amazing how they have a history of doing that - Wilt, Kareem, Shaq and even Kobe was in a draft trade.

More like Lebron managed to trade for Luka.  He runs that team so this all falls on him.

I think everyone playing the 3 pt shot game has hurt the NBA as much as anything. Its just a copycat league now.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

LeBron didn't even know about the trade or was told about it. Lakers did it behind his back. AD and LeBron are really good friends. This may piss of James.

On top of it, Luka is way out of shape and does nothing to fix it or his work ethic. Yeah he shows up on game days, but that style won't last long as he gets older. Luka has major issues. Otherwise Dallas would have never done it.

Agree with you that Luka is out of shape and has a bad work ethic but to make this type of deal without the input of Lebron, I find hard to believe.

Those are all the reports. I wouldn't be surprised if they want LeBron to ask for a trade. Now that they have Luka, get some younger players and draft picks for LeBron. If LeBron never knew about it, which I believe to be true, I wouldn't be surprised if it was because they want him to ask his way out. Total speculation, however.

It's comical to think LeBron didn't know about it.  No doubt they ran it by him and he approved it and may possibly helped to orchestrate it.  All this he was told at dinner is to try to protect LeBron from taking any heat, the team does nothing without him being involved.  Do you really think they or any other NBA team would have drafted his son?

Brian Windhorst who is as tied in as anyone has reported that LeBron has always wanted to play with Luka and is a huge fan at one point calling him the best player in the game.  When Luka was being recruited by Nike, LeBron tried to get him to sign with his brand.

This trade is super shady. The lack of return for the Mavs is absolutely ridiculous

This feels like someone trying to force a championship to LA. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some outside compensation going on, given how bad the official compensation was for the Mavs.
