The look on their faces last night was one that I was only all too familiar with.
They had a good run too.
They kinda became America's team, rooting for a real underdog.

Goff had a terrible night in the turnover department, and Dan Campbell was choked up.
Do they fire Campbell and trade Goff because of that?  No.  They let it sit for a couple days and over time, they will appreciate the journey of the past two seasons in aggregate.

The NFC North is still the toughest division in football.

Agree, know all too well what that is like. All year they looked dominating and last night they just completely fell apart. It is just amazing how some franchises like us always find a way to lose the big game, doesn't matter the year, the players, coaches, in the big game they are going to find a way to lose or they don't even show up. Next perennial loser up now is Buffalo, of the teams left, will definitely be rooting for them and hoping they can break the trend for their franchise.

Agreed, though the Lions fans on the NFC/NFCN "trash talk" pages are being burned down, brutally, for talking ridiculous smack all season long.

I may or may not be taking part in some of that.

I have sympathy, but I also remember how our divisional rival fans treat us in similar circumstances...just last week, in fact.

They can suck it down.

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

Fck them...

They can dream about "what if" the rest of winter.

You gotta grab the ring when you can, nobody is promised a next year in the NFL.

Trash talk is one thing...trashy behavior is something else.
I remember a game in Philly a few years ago...and the fans there were verbally and physically abusive to Vikings fans.
That guy that spewed to the Packer's female fan a few weeks ago is how it can grow unchecked and overflow into actions.
Let's face it...we talk trash to Packer fans all the time, for years.

Be classy gang.  Be classy.

There are obvious lines, and Philly's fans are like a 101 course in how NOT to be a decent fan.

Philly should lose all their sports franchises based on fan actions,  absolute filth that they take pride in their reputation.

I don't feel sorry for them at all. They have a boneheaded coach that they thought would lead them to the promised land.
This is the same coach that sold his house because his daughter gave a friend their address. Think their run at the top of division will soon be over and they will return to the Lions we all know.

I work with Lions fans. These are not obnoxious fans. They've been humbled many times and so don't wear their fandom on their sleeve. Campbell, Kerby and the kneecaps? No, fuck all that.

Another thing...this is going to be our nemesis for awhile. 15 games won and they have almost the same amount of cap space as the Vikings. The free agent players we're all dreaming about right now are going to be targeted by the Lions too.

So the Vikings will have to be ultra-aggressive in free agency. This is not a team that is "2 or 3 years away." It's ready to win now. It won't be long before Jefferson and Darrisaw's contracts start taking big chunks out of our cap space. And the QB on a rookie deal thing doesn't last forever. Vikings have to go hard THIS spring and put together a Super Bowl roster.

Yah, 14-3 changed the Viking narrative.

Whats kinda weird is the Vikings have BIG questions on that roster. So big that it doesn't fit sensibly with the gaudy regular season record. Add to it questions about the HC/GM (which I suspect will get resolved).

This is a real pivotal year and the decisions they make this off-season will keep that window open or not.

I agree Detroit is the team to beat for the division. They will be the favorites next year, as they should with 1/2 their roster coming back off IR.

I think we are 0/3 or 0/4 against them the last few seasons? They have one of the best rosters in football and certainly in the NFC North.

If I could pluck one player off that team? It would be Gibbs...

The Lions as an underdog team? Perhaps last year but not this year as they were one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites, and they played like it for most of the year. Do I feel bad for them? Nope.

I'd probably go with their IOL and then draft Jeanty.

Questions, sure. Will Harry retire? Are we able to tag and trade Darnold? Does Daniel Jones stay or go? Are we replacing all three of the IOL or just one or two? It's going to be a crazy spring.

But I'd say most of the questions have pretty clear answers.  Vikings have 21 players whose contracts expired in 2024. But by my estimation, only 2 of them we'll want to resign (Bynum, Murphy). Vikings managed their bridge seasons very well this year. Darnold, Aaron Jones, Gilmore, Griffin, Tillery, etc, were largely successful. But I don't see too many of them coming back.

Watching NFL Countdown this morning and they were stating since week 14 the Lions statistically fielded the worst defense in the league. The only thing that went through my head was how in the F did the Vikings only manage to score 9 points against that Mash unit who you could have mistaken for the 85 Chicago Bears that night? Then it happens again the very next week against the Rams in a playoff game on a neutral field. The Vikings have roster holes that certainly need upgrading, but KOC is going to have to come up with a plan B
when plan A isn't working. Thusfar in his short coaching career he has been unable or unwilling to do that and that's got to change.

Screw that. I don't feel bad for them at all. Talk shit, get hit. Hit with Goff's 69 million dollar cap hit next year. 23 free agents. Staggered time frame on returns for their injured players. Who knows what happens with the OC and DC. Nah they wanted to talk smack, they can feel the pile on. Idgaf about their feelings and their bragging

I don't feel bad. We are Vikings fans for damn sakes. That team is in for a rude awakening. So many re-signs and losing coaches. I feel its the beginning of the end for the Lions.

It's going to be tough for the Lions to get back to that spot because of this.  If they lose Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, I think their window is closed.  They will be competitive but wont be as dominant as they were this year.  Window closes fast in the NFL.

They were tolerable last season, this year they crowned themselves Super Bowl winners and talked a lot of shit.

Fuck ‘em! I don’t feel bad for them as fans or as a team.

My wife came down to see the score and all the sad looking Lions fans and said, “Awe, I feel sorry for them”
I then reminded her that back in 2010 a Lions fan spit on her for wearing a Vikings jersey. She remembered ND SID, “oh yeah! Fuck them!”
