10 game rental.

The Jaguars placed the franchise tag on Robinson for a second time on March 8, 2022, before eventually agreeing to a three-year contract extension worth $54 million on April 27. In Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys, Robinson suffered a season–ending meniscus injury.

Definitely not Darrisaw but not many are. I think this was a good move and not too expensive pick wise.

I think the good thing is it keeps the line in place without a major shuffle and keeps Risner as a viable option to replace Ingram

Minnesota will also land a 2026 conditional seventh-round pick in the deal in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round selection that can turn into a fourth-round pick based on Robinson's playing time, Pelissero adds.

I like that the pick is in 2026 and not 2025. I also like that if Robinson leaves via free agency this spring, which he almost certainly will, the Vikings could feasibly get a comp pick in 2026 to replace the one they're giving up. Also like that it doesn't reshuffle the line. Brandel stays where he is and Risner can still upgrade Ingram.

I hope so...I really didn't want to give up much (at all) in future draft capital for 10 games.

I would have bet the farm they would stay with an in-house solution and I would have been wrong.

Now they got themselves a rental QB and a rental LT...I wonder if the 25 squad will look much different from 24? (sarcasm)

Agreed. Its a decent move. Just need to win games now.

UPDATE: The #Jaguars have agreed to pay down a portion of Cam Robinson's remaining $9.6M as part of this trade. Efforting to learn the specifics...@spotrac

I would've been right there with ya. But it sounds like the Vikings didn't want to put their playoff hopes at risk by trusting Quessenberry, or experimenting with Rouse or Brandel at the key LT position. In retrospect, and considering how little they gave up for Robinson, they probably made the right decision. I have to wonder, though, if Robinson starts or even plays against the Colts.

I thought about that too, I would be surprised if he did...Might not be fair to the guy to throw him in with just days to practice.

on the flip side... its a home game, should be about as good as it gets for an OT to be able to get a feel for the QBs cadence and what not. Next 2 are on the road and then home for what could be viewed as a must win divisional matchup against the bears.

Thats true too...

Bears aren't here till mid-December.

Shrewd smart move IMO.

Robinson is a UFA, so he's playing for a pay day.

Unsure how he'll play but the incentive of him playing for his next deal, he's only 29 years old, is why this move makes sense.

+1 to Kwesi

Vikings’ plan at left tackle on hold until Cam Robinson is able to practice Thursday

The Vikings’ plan at left tackle remained up in the air Wednesday as the team practiced without Cam Robinson, the newly-acquired veteran with 91 starts for Jacksonville since being drafted in the second round in 2017.

“We hope to have him practice , and we’ll see where he’s at,” coach Kevin O’Connell said shortly before Wednesday’s practice, when Robinson was still en route to TCO Performance Center.

“If he’s ready to go and prepared, I’d like to get him in the mix there. If for whatever reason, either situational or something where we hold him out and give him a full week of prep next week, we’ll see how it goes. I think we have a good plan in place.”

Robinson, 29, started seven of the Jaguars’ eight games this season. He was cleared from NFL concussion protocol before Jacksonville’s game last Sunday but did not play.

Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah sent a conditional 2026 fifth-round pick to Jacksonville for Robinson and a conditional 2026 seventh-rounder after the Vikings lost Christian Darrisaw, who suffered a season-ending injury to his left knee in last Thursday’s loss at the Rams.

“When you lose a player like Christian Darrisaw, it’s so catastrophic because he means so much to your team,” O’Connell said. “To find a player of Cam’s caliber, in-season, like Kwesi was able to … we’re very much looking forward to getting here.”

O’Connell wouldn’t reveal his plan if Robinson isn’t ready by Sunday. The team is considering moving left guard Blake Brandel to left tackle and inserting Dalton Risner at left guard. Backup David Quessenberry started two games in place of Darrisaw last season but struggled in his 25 snaps after Darrisaw went down against the Rams.

Let's see how it goes, hopefully we can get a coherent line plan together that gets test-driven on Sunday night. What I really want to see is 4 quarters of aggression from our whole team, especially an offense that acts like it's loaded with terrifying weapons...!

KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

I think that might depend on how "dinged" Quisenberry is or isnt.

I see they finally activated Risner. Not sure if that is dissatisfaction with Ingram or part of a broader plan. I suspect they didn't want to re-shuffle the line mid-season if they didnt have to.

If Robinson can (to some degree) hold it down @ LT the rest of the way, it'll be labled as a very shrewd move.
