Possibly getting rid of hip drop tackle

Isnt this the tackle that brought down TJH? Or am I remembering that incorrectly? 

Football is not going to be football pretty soon. It's already lost a lot of luster with all the tackling rules. Defenders have to be able to stop in mid-air, shift their bodies while falling so that their weight doesn't come down on a player, not touch the QB after they release the ball and now they can't tackle the hips. What's next? No tackling around the knees or legs? Just give the offense flags and be done with it.

It's a contact sport,  injuries are part of the game,  at what point does the safety element get put on the offensive players?  Maybe they need to adjust so not to put their players in harms way?

Are there really that many injuries caused by this? These kind of tackles don’t seem all that common either. 
They could teach players to slide down securing the legs without having to make it another subjective penalty called at the whim of the refs.

Advertisers don't question the ratings. They pay a lot of money and its based off those metrics. Why you don't that is what I'm saying because you don't have any reason to.

So they banned it! On our way to flag football. NFL tackle football is the king of sports. Hopefully it's evolution won't lead to it's eventual destruction.

Rule changes like this make you question how wise it is to even invest high draft picks into defensive players these days. Sure the best of the best are still worth the price but is the best CB in a draft worth what the best WR can give you this season. The next? Or the next? Rules are getting harder by the year on defenders. What little leeway they still have might be stripped away by the time their rookie deal is up. It’s not the only reason, but I do think there’s a safety in drafting offense right now— especially WR and QB.
