Sad to hear, I thought he was one of the good ones who covered the NFL.

Chris Mortensen, one of the original NFL insiders whose work informed millions of football fans for decades, has died at the age of 72.

Sad news. Mort was the original and Schefter and all these other guys are riding the wave he created. I used to prefer the ESPN draft coverage almost totally for Mort's updates. RIP

Unfortunately, he suffered with health issues the last 10 years at least. Brings me back to a time long ago when I actually watched SportsCenter. Sorry to hear it.
