Seahawks, Commanders new coaches
A youth movement in Seattle: Seahawks are expected to hire Ravens’ defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their new head coach, league sources tell ESPN. They’re still finalizing the deal, but Seattle has its man.

At 36, Macdonald now becomes the NFL’s youngest head coach. pic.twitter.com/uZ3vbXTS4n

Im lovin’ it.
other coaching additions include the Hamburgler as OC, and Grimace OL
Sources: The #Commanders have found their new coach, as owner Josh Harris is set to hire #Cowboys DC Dan Quinn as head coach.

Quinn gets his second NFL HC gig, but not with the #Seahawks as many expected. He lands in Washington. pic.twitter.com/VIibENwBIv

I'm surprised Belichick got shut out. Carrol and Vrabel too. Seems like everyone is going younger (besides the Chargers). Not saying that's unwise, just that it's interesting.
Coaches to players is apples to oranges but I'm starting to think there's a non-zero chance that maybe Kirk's market won't be as robust as we fear. I know Geoff is bullish on Kirk's market so probably just wishful thinking on my part. But if we could get him back for one year, $30M that'd be a huge win and in that event we absolutely will take a QB early. That would be a huge win. Even 2 years, $60M would be okay provided there's not a no-trade clause this time around.
But yeah-- coaches-- it's funny to me that no one seemed to want the Commanders job. I know they have the #2 pick but man, they don't have much else at all over there. Might be a 3 year rebuild which in the NFL is an eternity.
The good news is that it sounds like Flores is back with the Vikings.

@"pattersaur" said:It looks like Kirk's market value will be in the 40ish range. Anyone think Kirk is going to undervalue himself ? Who thinks Kirk should take a backseat to QB's including Geno Smith, Kyler Murray, Matt Stafford, Danny Dimes, Derek Carr, Dak Prescott? What do the Bengals and Browns really have in Joe Burrow or DeSean Watson? Baker Mayfield will laugh at 35 million. lol...I'm surprised Belichick got shut out. Carrol and Vrabel too. Missing Wonnum and Murphy and Blackmon might have played a part as well.@"MaroonBells" said: The good news is that it sounds like Flores is back with the Vikings. Part of the defensive issues is the team is lacking talent
@"supafreak84" said:I think that might've played a role as well. I think that's true for all teams, offenses and defenses. For example, when Philly got figured out, they really got figured out. Hopefully, Flores will adjust for '24 and adapt as needed.@"MaroonBells" said:Probably, but I still kind of wonder how much of it was teams figuring out what he was doing from early in the year and adjusting. Now your top two corners are 4 and 5. That's probably a challenge not even Flores can overcome.

Again though, all that circles back to the disaster that was the 2022 NFL Draft for the lack of secondary depth and talent. I still almost get nauseous looking at that draft class. Cine, Booth, Ingram, Asamoah, Evans...oy vey! I'm hoping at least Evans can bounce back next season. With that said....no first round corner this year, please!
