The committee takes several things into consideration when picking the rankings. They include conference championships, strength of schedule

I don't see that mention who they feel in their own opinion of who are the 4 best teams, it is calculated on facts and performance.  Florida State went into the week ranked 4, won their conference championship game against a ranked opponent and remained undefeated.  So they are penalized, because they are have a backup QB?  If you are not using the calculated formulas and factoring things in like a team having a back up QB in what world is Georgia not in there.  Not sure I have seen a team go for 1 to out of the top 4 after losing to a top team.  It is total BS, appropriate in the last year of 4 that the system is exposed as completely fraudulent.

FSU would have gotten dogwalked by any of the other playoff teams. Alabama is much better inclusion. Tougher game for Michigan, zero doubt about that, but let the best team win.

There is no doubt in my mind, that FSU would still be playing if Jordan Travis was still playing...I dont care what they say on the committee, its about ratings. FSU offense has stunk to hell since he went down.

But should that be a factor in deciding who makes it?  Isn't it based on performance and results?  So if we somehow sneak into the playoffs is the NFL going to take us out of the field, cause with a backup QB we are likely to get beat?  FSU earned it, there is no way it can be justified for them to be kept out based on an assumption.  They still have one of the best defenses in the nation and are a threat to beat anyone as they showed yesterday against a ranked team.  NCAA was going to take care of Saban and Alabama and they couldn't justify Alabama over Texas, so the only way they could continue to coddle Alabama was to have them both in and screw over FSU.

Putting FSU in there after losing their best player at the most important position would be like Goodell throwing the Vikings into the playoffs with Dobbs and trying to sell the country that we were one of the handful of best teams in football. Travis meant that much to FSU and they would have gotten rolled by any of the other qualifiers and that's not what the committee wanted. I have no issue with them being left out. Georgia is another story though. Not sure how you leave a one loss returning national champion out who's only loss was by a field goal in the conference championship.

I hear yah....

But who of the 4 would you say stays home to give Ga a berth?

I would have a hard time with that one.

Probably Texas. They played only two ranked opponents during the regular season and were 1-1 in those games before beating up on an outclassed Oklahona State in the championship game. Even though they beat Alabama, you can't compare their schedule to that of Georgia

Honestly, and its weird saying this because they are ranked #1, Michigan probably has the lowest chance of winning the championship. Most people are going to pick Alabama and I get why. Texas will probably beat Washington.....and they could beat Michigan if somehow the Wolverines beat Alabama.

Michigan needs to the get monkey off their back that they can beat a really good team not named Ohio State when it matters. They got punked last year by TCU in the playoffs and Georgia annihilated them the year before.

I never trust Big 10 teams to win it all...

You can't, until they prove otherwise. I have a buddy who's a huge Alabama fan and we'll end up watching the game out somewhere on New Year's Day, but I told him let the best team win. I called the initial -2.0 line for Michigan when it first came out and he was floored: he thought it would be -5-0 or -6.0 and I said nope, Vegas knows its shit. I obviously would love to see the Wolverines take it all, but I'm not at all confident. They don't have all the athletes at every position as the other top teams do. Its much harder to get into Michigan than any other top 10 CFB team.

Not surprising with most of their starters opting out

Did you see the list of FSU starters not playing? It was ridiculous. IMO, Georgia was going to win that game regardless, but FSU put out their C team and a true freshman at QB. I'm sure he needed a diaper change a few times during that game. This needs to be fixed, it was a shit show:

They would have lost regardless without Jordan Travis, but if the rest of that squad wanted to try and prove they were the better team otherwise...they should have played. I don't feel sorry for them and glad they can stop bitching now.
