I was at a backyard fire night this summer when a friend exposed me to AI and ChatGPT. I was skeptical. I said OK, have it write me a short story about a death in the family. Can't remember what other details we gave it but not much more than that. The biggest thing was that I wanted it written in Ernest Hemingway's writing style.
In a few seconds, out popped this story. It was fantastic. And all with Hemingway's vocabulary, his trademark simplicity, directness and clarity. I was floored.
Truth is over. People don't want it anyway.
