Sending positive and healing vibes to Jordan Hicks
Vikings LB Jordan Hicks developed compartment syndrome yesterday after bruising his shin, per coach Kevin O'Connell. He was taken from U.S. Bank Stadium to a local hospital, had a "procedure" and remains hospitalized, per O'Connell, "just out of precaution at this point."

Geez, I know nothing about compartment syndrome but Dr Google says it can take up to a year for treatment. Are we really looking at another good player on IR?

It sure sounds like it, bummer… :s
He'll be missed.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me the past few days and for all of your continued prayers. The surgery was a huge success and I’m grateful for all of the doctors, nurses and medical staff who treated me. Looking forward to getting back out there with the guys soon! pic.twitter.com/QlbzI56K0v

IPJ may be a thumper, but in pass coverage? Not a good thing.
Payton will probably exploit the hell out of it too.
Kudos to the Vikings medical staff. Acute compartment syndrome is difficult to recognize and diagnose. It is a true medical emergency. There is a six hour window to treat this with fasciotomy before the muscle nerves and tissue in the compartment begin to die. Diagnosed and treated early there is a very good prognosis providing there are no complications.
It will take awhile to heal, but I would expect a full recovery.
I'm glad they took him to the hospital rather than sending him home.
This is every bit the emergency that Teddy had.
I practiced medicine for about 3 decades before retiring and only saw acute compartment syndrome once. Thank God it was on my list of differential diagnosis and early surgery prevented potential loss of limb or even death.
Prayers for a quick and full recovery.
