Coaching
Atlanta should be embarrassed by what we did today.
The Vikings coaching staff is elite. You don’t get “lucky” as often as we have without a team and a culture that has wholey bought into what they’re doing.
Dobbs made some great plays today, but our defense allowed us to stay in the game. A defense that was a major liability last year.
Get a rookie QB in to sit behind Cousins and get ready for a great ride. I’m convinced KOC is the coach to finally bring a SB to MN.
That was a hell of a plan by KOC, I am amazed it worked.
And to think, KOC was on Vegas' short lists for coaches to be fired not too long ago. Unbelievable.
That is definitely a breakthrough game for a coach. Being down a qb and then down a qb again, let alone a qb that just got there and didn't have any reps with the 1s. It's insane and ridiculous how everyone came to together and came through

I guarantee you the Wilfs don't feel that way. At all.Yeah, if anything, he just bought himself several seasons worth of good will with the Wilfs. I'm not sure if the Wilfs were in the lockeroom after Zimmer wins, but that is one of the coolest videos on the internet. I always make sure to watch it the next mornings.
I’ve been a big fan of KO from the day he got hired and think he’s done a great job. KAM has been more up and down but Offseason 2 was a huge improvement over Offseason 1 for him, so I’m happy with his as well. To me our future looks bright. I really hope Flores stays around for another season+.
Dobbs was O'Connell's Avatar on Sunday - lol! B)
@"PurpleCrush" said: And to think, KOC was on Vegas' short lists for coaches to be fired not too long ago. Unbelievable. This is why I didn't understand some fans here calling for Kevin O'Connell's head after the tough start. New defensive coordinator, lots of young guys getting chances to start, and we had an unlucky number of turnovers in the first month of the season. He did a hell of a job squeezing every last ounce of talent and moxy out of the team last year to win 13 games and the division and has the team in playoffs contention halfway thru the season down JJ the past 4 weeks, losing Cousins, losing our backup 3 drives into this game, and winning with a guy we just traded for less than a week ago.
He's a hell of a coach, we're lucky we got him. If we can figure out our QB situation, we'll be set for years.
Wes Phillips: “People may not always say it, and he won't say it about himself, but Kevin O'Connell did a heck of a job during that game.”

The Saints made the list too. The Vikes will be in for another tough test, especially with Dobbs at QB.Go Vikes - Skol!

Chicago QB threw for 230 and ran for 70 in New Orleans last week. Dobbs could be a problem for them. Hopefully the running game can step up and take advantage of the opportunity

Hopefully the running game can step up and take advantage of the opportunityGood point and interesting information about Chicago's QB's rushing stats. I read somewhere that New Orleans had issues containing QBs with mobility, so hopefully it continues this week. I was looking over Dobbs' stats and he has thrown more TDs than INTs which is good despite his starting record; however, he averages a fumble a game, which is not good. That's a part of his game that will need to be fixed if he's the starter for an extended period of time.
Can't be denied.
Kevin O’Connell is a career 19-8

Last year, the computers called the Vikings a fluke
This year, the Vikes have overcome a biblical plague of injuries to remain in the race
It’s becoming more clear that *KOC* is the outlier
At 38, he is becoming one of the league’s best HCs
Yep, I love ya dude but grow a set of balls with a lead and attack.

“It’s totally on me. Gotta give our guys a better opportunity to move the ball.”
Kevin O’Connell is not being talked about enough for what he’s doing in Minnesota. The season started with extremely tough losses & they have rebounded from 0-3. Now, 1 of the hottest teams in ball, even without their best player and franchise QB. That’s high level leadership.

The Vikings' win streak is at five, with three different quarterbacks starting their three most recent wins.
They are 6-4, and in charge of a wild-card spot with a trip to Denver coming next week.

I agree, but in retrospect we were 1 play away from Manion time…! :o :s
The game wasn’t close. Had the refs not stepped in and kept the score close it wouldn’t have been a nail biter.
