read you past posts.  anybody you disagree with gets blasted,  apparently in this instance they are "fucking stupid"  simply because you disagree with their positions on something.  contrary to your belief,  you are not dead on in all things Vikings related,  you are have a pretty good football opinion on most things,  but you do get blinded by purple and just because some have a different view on something (KAM, his hiring, and his efforts to date ) doesnt make them "fucking stupid".

Wait Jimmy, you must have missed that Asamoah was going to be a "superstar" this season, Lewis Cine was going to be an amazing piece in the Brian Flores system, continuity on the offensive line was all we needed for improvement, and we were winning 12 games and competing to go to the Super Bowl this season and anybody who thought otherwise had an agenda. But hey, everybody else is the fucking morons, right?

Yep, we have all been right sometimes and wrong more often.  We all have the same goal for our team.  We have a few who are Pollyanna and a few who are critical, and neither is stupid/right/wrong.  I put myself more in the critical category over the years and heading into this season.  I saw a 9-win team because IOL and front 7 remained a weakness that went unaddressed.  Others though continuity on OL and Flores on Defense were enough but I and the critical group did not buy it.  I would say we are on the "right" side of that, but it is all our loss because our team is struggling.  It is also still early in the season.  I still think we could squeeze out 9 wins but this is not a very good team overall.  I also think the competitive rebuild is a patchwork approach and I am not impressed by Kwesi at all.  Some will say you have to wait to judge some of these things and I say...no you don't...call it like you see it.  I really don't think this organization is heading in the right direction.  

For example, “if Cine ever figures out how to tackle, he could eventually replace Harry.” Because he could. Or “continuity should lead to incremental improvement from our OL.” Because it should. Some people read this as “Cine is going to be an amazing piece” and “all our line needs is continuity.” (Yeah, you did too there, buddy. LOL). But that’s on them, not me. You might consider this a soft stance, avoiding a bold or “hot” take, and you’d be exactly right. I always want to avoid that, because I find hot takes naive and unpersuasive. Eye rolling, if I’m honest. Because above all, I want to be reasonable in my positions whether I’m debating the Vikings, Wall Street or whose turn it is to make dinner.

I think I can help you. As you know, when it comes to our GM, I typically list the decisions I agree with and those I don't. Do me a favor and list all the things he's done that you've agreed with. I could be wrong, but I don't think I've heard you mention any. And that's why your opinions come off as agenda-driven.

You seriously think giving a 3-year, $25M contract to a 33-year-old receiver was the right move for the Vikings? I think it was the right move for Carolina, considering their rookie QB, and how much a veteran WR could help him. But it sure as hell wasn't for us, considering the realities of our cap, Cousins, Jefferson, etc.

So you are against giving one of the leaders of the team and a guy who was one of the top W2s in the league 3 years 25 million, but you are okay with 3 years 21 million for a TE who only blocks and outside of the selected clips you have put here, has not that done that particularly well.  For the record last week Thielen 7 receptions for 76 yards, Oliver 0 receptions and one costly hold that was a 14 point swing (which didn't seem to show up all your "highlight" reels!)

Given Thielen's age, Oliver's age, what both offered, replaceability, our cap situation, etc., I think it was the right decision and it's the decision I would've made 10 times outta 10. so given that ( which I agree with btw )  why are you so set against moving on from Cousins,  he is in the twilight of his career, will be wanting near top money, and this team is not in a win now mode that would suggest throwing in with a vet QB because every game counts.  why not grab some draft capital,  save the cap hits,  and what we can get from Kirk to develop a better team in 2-3 years down the road?  How does keeping kirk on a go no where team help this team 2-3 years down the road?

I'm not dead set against moving on from Cousins. It hurts my feelings that you don't read my posts, particularly the ones where I've said repeatedly that we should draft the QBOTF this spring. 

I've also said that if the team is under 3-5 or suffers an injury to one of its key players by trade deadline, which could make them a "go nowhere" team, then we might want to consider shifting our focus to '24 and trading a player or two for draft capital. I think Hunter is a candidate.

I don't get into the trade-Cousins nonsense because it's a non-starter. He has a no-trade clause. Could they work that out? Maybe. But I also happen to believe he's one of the top 6 or 7 QBs in the NFL and, despite his age and contract and knowing what I know about draft history, we're more likely to win a Super Bowl in the next couple years with him than without him.

why do you need to wait?  if you cant see by now that this team is going no where this year then your judgement is fair game to question IMO,  blind squirrels find nuts of course, but why wait until every last thread is broken before conceding the year?  the longer we wait to make moves, the less value our pieces will have.  If Kirk or Hunter were on the market now you will have more teams thinking they are just 1 piece away, but if you wait another 4 games,  just like your favorite team,  there will be more that have seen the light and arent willing to give up premium draft picks.  

We can disagree on Cousins and winning as SB,  as long as he is who he is,  and is a declining player ( yes Ive seen his stats,  but I also watch his play and athletically he is starting to show his age IMO) I dont see a clear path to finding a QBOTF,  fixing the OL and DL, as well as LB, DB, and whatever else goes to shit in the meantime,  as well as paying Kirk 40+ million per year that he will likely be wanting.  IMO we need his cap space as well as the draft picks that we could get for him to get this thing turned around.  I dont see it happening with him at 36 or older since they werent able to make it happen in the previous years leading up to now, if anything we are getting further away from being a contender and resigning kirk wont change that.

Case in point, just for context, check out Mahomes on the play below. Best QB in the NFL. LOVE to have him. But at 4 secs, he's got a clean pocket and one wide open receiver for a 1st down. He doesn't throw. At 5 secs, he has two open receivers and doesn't throw. At 6, he has a 3rd receiver deep who scores if he throws the ball. He doesn't. Eventually protection breaks down and he throws to the 1st guy, who's still wide open, but he throws it a mile over his head. Imagine how Viking fans might react to this.

I was critical of the Chiefs in that they should have used preseason to get that shit out of their system,  since that game they are 3-0,  If its Cousins I say WTF have you been doing all preseason,  which is pretty much what I said about the Chiefs, however are you really saying that Cousins and Mahomes should be held to the same scrutiny?  I would say Mahomes resume ( and rings and trophies)  gives him a lot more rope than Cousins will ever deserve.

So do we get to see more "highlights" of Oliver's blocks and what a mauler he is.  Two weeks in a row he is responsible for a 14 point swing in the game, brutal fumble that let to 7 for KC and then a potential TD pass through his hands.  20+ million on two TEs who have been one of the bigger factors in the 1-4 start.

TJ Hockenson- 30 catches, 254 yards, 2 TD's = highest paid TE in the league

Sam Laporta- 25 catches, 289 yards, 3 TD's = rookie contract

Again, which team is that trade looking better for?
