Minnesota Vikings roster
Just go to Vikings.com and review their entire roster. I don't gain a lot of confidence looking at it, lol. Lots of young guys and unknowns really need to pop to make this thing work. Not saying it can't work or that it won't work.....I'm saying on its face there's plenty of question marks and uncertainty. I don't question anyone having doubts. But this could very well be the one-year in this competitive rebuild that the team takes a step back to take two forward. I think its by design to set the table and get some breathing room cap-wise.
I'm still staying with my 9 win prediction, but it wouldn't be the worst thing if they came up short of that to get TQBOTF in next Spring's Draft.
Careful now Sticky, you don't want to be accused of being negative. Nobody wants to hear it unless you think this team is winning 12 games and going to the Super Bowl...
Reality is this is a paper thin roster lacking depth almost everywhere. Secondary, offensive line, defensive line, and arguments could be made for other positional groups..

I agree with you there. The dept behind the starters is pretty horrid. Pray the team doesn't suffer a slew of injuries to the starters or this season will be a bust.
I am not thrilled with our starting front 7 (mainly the front 3 and the two LB'ers) and think we will be heavily run on.
In reverse of that, our interior OFF line has to improve in both run and pass protection and I have my doubts that they will improve by that much. Cleveland and Bradford are who they are at this point and Ingram going into his second season everyone expects a big jump but it is a jump from literally the bottom on NFL Guards.
I also see around 9 wins (with a window between 7-10 wins)
All fair takes I’d say.
Run game- we downgraded at RB and didn’t improve the line. Josh Oliver would have to be out of this world in order for our already suspect run game to imrpove. Likely downgrade.
Front 7- Suspect at best.
Secondary- See front 7.
OL- slight improvement hopefully but a big question mark.
Passing game- Should improve with Addison plus a more comfortable Kirk and Hockenson. TE and WR rooms looks solid.
Kicking- Hopefully Joseph can be even better this year.
ST- who knows.
Basically, for the Vikings to win games I think we’ll have to throw a ton and be efficient doing it. A lot will fall on Kirk’s shoulders this year. I do think he’s up to the challenge but it’s going to absolutely be a challenge.
Regardless, a good passing offense should make for a lot of fun this season. I don’t think a Super Bowl is on the menu for this year so a fun ride is what I’m hoping for. Oh, and beat the Packers.
I don’t think this is a SB team. It seems with us deciding not to extend Cousins that we’re reloading.
You can’t find out who our new stars are going to be without them playing.

Supa, you wanna know the difference? Like most of us, Sticky calls out both the positives and the negatives as he sees them. Whether it's about ownership, the GM, the QB, the coaching staff, the draft....when nearly 100% of your posts are negative, it's hard to take you seriously. You come across as a crank with an agenda.
There are still holes which is to be expected when you have to clear cap and start over with young guys. There is both positive and negative. You can be reasonable and realistic and still see reasons for optimism.
On paper, the Lions are the superior team. X and O’s I think we have a marked advantage with KOC and BFlo.
I see a .500 team as a floor with a decent chance to be 9-10 wins or better that should contend in this division.
Our offense is going to score enough points to win most NFL games, there is no doubt. It may come down to how many big plays our d gives up, but my money is on BFlo to make this d competitive. I predict 10 wins or more for this club.
Last year Cousins had an amazing year and was incredibly clutch in the big moments which I think was a major part of our success, along with the playmakers he had in JJ, Cook, Thielen and then TJ. I think the team is really underestimating what Cook meant to the team and the leadership that Thielen provided. Those are big losses that combined with the incredible lack of depth on this team are going to be hard to overcome.
After 47 years my negativity has reached an all-time high so I won't add any more to this thread.

This from the guy who just tried to sell us Lewis Cine as having super star potential in another post. You are literally the king of blowing smoke up everyone's asses on any and every player, roster move, and front office member in the organization. You aren't objectionable, you're a homer...so I'll take what you say with a grain of salt. My agenda is I want to see this team get to a Super Bowl and think they've done everything ass backwards since the day they let Rick Spielman walk out the door. Kwesi hasn't shown anything in the way of roster moves or identifying talent. That's not an agenda, that's just fact...and his shortcomings in those areas are WHY we are lacking roster depth and continuing to tinker by signing XFL players and street free agents.

And if you still think it's blowing smoke up up people's asses then your judgement and perception of reality is so far out of whack, you should probably sit down before you fall over.

In fact other than his obsession of having 10 picks every draft and his love of players drafted in the 7th round he wasn't worth a shit and probably why he hasn't gotten another job. Kwesi may take awhile to build this team but he certainly isn't going to be any worse than Spielman.

Twisted by negativity!? Lol. I give an honest assessment and reasoning as to why I think we are in for a down year and people lose their minds. You on the other hand are trying to sell Cine (if he can tackle) and Asamoah as stars. Look, Cine is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. As you know, but just continue to ignore, is that Cine has had good plays and bad. I mention both, because i don't have an agenda. You mention only the bad. Given that fact, you shouldn't expect to be taken seriously.

An agenda!? You try to sell everyone in EVERY post that this is a star studded team that is making all the right moves towards the future and will be a Super bowl contender this year and years to come. I wholeheartedly disagree with you and the direction of this franchise under current management. As far as Cine goes, he's made a few plays but he's also missed some big ones and is still running 4th on the depth chart. You think the guys got star potential, well put your money where your mouth is, take the bet, or stop blowing smoke up our asses. Cine and Asamoah, who you also think is a future super star. If they both become pro bowl players (low bar) for the Vikings by the end of their rookie deals (potential 5th year for Cine), then I'll happily send a $50 dollar gift card to you for a steak dinner. They don't, then you send me one. Deal?

This team was a perennial contender under Spielman, won several division titles, and we just won 13 games on the backs of the talent assembled by Rick Spielman. You can cherry pick any draft and nobody is perfect drafting, but the two young cornerstones of this franchise were selected by Rick...in the 20's. I didn't always agree with Rick and was not a fan of the 10 draft pick/gathering late round picks philosophy but overall he did his job. He made a lot of good trades and was always acquiring future draft capital. I'd take Rick Spielman over an analytics buff with zero experience every day of the week and twice on Sundays (pun intended).

So let's look at what you conveniently omitted - 2017 he traded up to get Dalvin, 2018 got our bookend OT O'Neil in the 2nd, a solid TE Conklin in the 5th and one of the best kickers in the NFL in Carlson in the 6th and in 2019 our current starting RB in the 3rd. Followed that up in 2020 the 2nd top player in league in JJ and Osborne in the 5th and 2021 picked up one of best LTs in the league in Darrisaw and our starting safety in the 4th. And yes this team is in much worse hands with Kwesi.

Oh its another Kwesi hater from another Viking forum to jump into the Kwesi sucks thread. Rick had his share of hits but he also had plenty of misses, guess thats why he has been fired twice and still out of a job running a team. If this was still Ricks team we would have a bunch of overpaid veterans still bloating the salary cap. At least Kwesi saw the flaws and starting cutting the deadwood from the team but he isnt going to be able to replace the talent in two drafts. Let the preseason playout before saying every decision he made this offseason was clueless.
I get the trepidation with some of our depth issues at certain spots (CB, DL, pass rush, IOL) but we still have a great offense that should be even better in Year 2 of KOC's tenure.
People also gloss over how much better we were situationally last season compared to our prior two years under Zimmer. That's all from our new HC and should still be a strength of this team this season.
In today's NFL offense is king and we'll have one that can score with the best of em. The defense was our Achilles heel as the season went on and we morphed from a big play artist (got a lot of turnovers) that gave up yards to just soft coverage. The thing is we hired a great defensive mind in Flores who should be able to scheme a pass rush with his exotic blitz packages. I think fans are underrating the impact he'll have on our defense.
I think our floor is 9 wins with O'Connell and our offensive playmakers and we could get 12-13 wins if the defense improves to league average in yards/points allowed with some sizzle (sacks and turnovers).
