I rarely go to see movies in theaters,  but I heard a little about this film and decided its one that deserves the box office recognition.  If you dont know about it,   its a true story about a family stolen in child slavery and the man who made it his mission to get them back to their father.

The back story is some higher ups in the entertainment industry didn't want this story put there,  from actors on up it was a battle to get this into theaters so if you think slavery is wrong,  if you think pedophilia is wrong,  please take a couple hours and go see this film and if you find its message valuable please pass it along.

Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Went to see Oppenheimer yesterday and it was good not great IMO.  It was hard to follow and will require a second viewing when it is released at home. I might be just old, but both my wife and I thought the sound was muffled which made it even harder to follow.  The hype on the movie is ridiculous IMO.  I would give about a 7 out of 10 :)  Oh well, just my opinion.

Maybe its the teacher in me, but i have ZERO TOLERANCE for those who victimize, abuse, neglect, harrass, or otherwise harm children, or put them in Harms way. There a special rung in Dantes Inferno for them.

Yeah, I haven't watched it yet mostly because of this.

I was worried about this. Today, everything is AMAZING. The reviews are almost always over the top. Look at the top 10 popular movies or shows on Netflix....almost always garbage.

I volunteer working with survivors of human trafficking. Trafficking shows the deepest, darkest, ugliest depths of humanity and the unbelievable strength of those who survive.  The idea of watching anything like this on the big screen is a hard pass for me.

Maybe more people need to see the ugly truth to gain a clue as to what’s going on in our world?

Really, A hard pass ?  I am sure if you work with these victims you have heard much worse than what's being portrayed on the big screen.  if anything I would have expected you of all people to he screaming at people to see a film like this to help raise awareness to these atrocities towards children.  No matter row real some things are there are those that won't recognize it until they see it for themselves.

I get really wound up when the political agenda outweighs the basic decency to distinguish right from wrong.  It may not be the case here, but it certainly appears to be.  How can anyone not want the truth to come out when it comes to stuff like this?

I guess that's my point. I have been aware and trying to do what I can in the meantime. My uncle just passed away, he is a proud Marine who served in Vietnam. Agent Orange exposure so his medical chart says. That has been weighing on my mind as well as working on going through his house, collaborating with the VA and a lot of traveling back and forth prior because of wanting to spend time with him and my family especially my mom since they were best friends. So my energy is very focused right now. Also working on celebration of life planning and making memorials. Honoring him is my number one priority right now.

I loved it. The visuals, acting, directing, the basic story...on all those levels it's fantastic.

But I can definitely see how some find it hard to follow. There are so many characters (mostly scientists) it's hard to track them from Cambridge to Los Alamos to the hearings.

The movie could've benefitted from condensing the security hearing scenes near the end. We learn so much in those and it's a vital part of the story, but it could've been told in half the time.

I don't think I'll fully appreciate this movie until I can watch it again when it streams...and I can turn on subtitles and use the pause button.

Thank you. I appreciate that. I should probably write a thread for him because he is just that remarkable. I made copies of the medical chart too because you just never know. My mad, sad and bullshit meter is in overdrive so there is no room for anything else. Family first then go from there. Don't want to hijack the thread, I'm out.

It does make one wonder how there hasn't been a single indictment over the Epstein/Maxwell arrests...well, no, I don't wonder much at all.  After all, if even 1/10 of the rumors are true, a ton of powerful people would get ruined overnight.

Can't have that, especially in the circles that encompass politics and celebrity...!

Remember the DC madame and her black book?  crickets

If I remember, only Vitter (R-LA?) was the only name revealed or alluded too.  Vitter is a creep.  No crimes, trails or convictions and what ever happened to the black book.  All politicians and super rich are above the law.

As far as Trump/Russia goes, he had people around him like Flynn, Manafort and Guiliani that were all kooks as well as a back channel to Russia. Thats just the tip of the Iceburg as Trump, the leader of the free world propogates inciteful and dangerous lies that feeds kooks.

No party or person is absolved here, i get that but we have to call out threats to democracy and peace, not fan the flames.  I dont agree with Policy i dont like, and no one should, but we have to figure out how to promote policy in a sane manner.

Thank you. And a hard pass on any Caviezel movie—even if he is from Mn and a Vikings fan. He’s a nut job and so is Mel Gibson. Gibson believes like his father that the Holocaust was a hoax.

At the time there were people calling for it to be released,  but IIRC there were no allegations of sex trafficking minors as there was with epstein/maxwell.  If consenting adults want to make it a business transaction that is between them and their God,  this is about protecting minors and not politicians and other pedophile scum.
