else, and the less resilient you are to them getting injured. I don’t think you can have Cousins,
Jefferson, Darrisaw, O’Neill, Hunter all on big contracts. I just hope we don’t end up in a situation,
where we pay JJ a ton, have to cut Cousins, but can’t find the right guy, then
JJ forces his way out and we eat a ton of dead cap. *Cough* Raiders *Cough*

Don't think he said that. Just that paying a WR and QB huge contracts is tough to balance.
In a few years, it won't seem like so much in comparison given how the contracts just keep leaping upward.

There's a lot of delusional Viking fans right now. If you go on the Vikings subreddit, it's filled with people who want to see us break the bank for Jefferson, as if the higher the number means the more the betterer, because that means Jefferson is even besterest than if he was paid less.The NFL isn't won by paying players the most. The NFL isn't won by having the best WR. The NFL is won by figuring out how to get the most talent on your team and with a salary cap that means figuring out how to get the most talent per dollar spent. Obviously Jefferson is great, no doubt about it, but the more you pay for Jefferson, the less you get to spend elsewhere, and mere moments ago, we learned the lesson of spending too much money on too few of players, such that we couldn't field a full and robust roster to weather normal amounts of injuries. We literally just experienced this as we gave generous contracts to multiple players who earned it and they're almost all gone now.
So if we spend a ton of money on Jefferson, I'll be happy for him. I'll be happy to see more of him on my team. But I'll be bittersweet knowing that it means more compromises elsewhere.

And yet the team paying the fewest players the most money won the Super Bowl last year. 50% of the Chiefs payroll went to five players.Outlier? Same was true the year before with the Rams, who led the league in the amount of players (7) paid over $15M. Outlier? Same was true the year before that with the Bucs, who won the Super Bowl paying 40% of its cap to five players.
What's interesting is the fact that the year they won the Super Bowl, the Rams not only had the most players making over $15M, they also had the fewest players BY FAR making between $2M and $15M. In other words, their depth sucked. So how did they do it? They stayed healthy, ranking top 10 in least amount of salary paid to players on IR.
So luck plays a big part. Or whatever it is that prevents injuries. Because guess who led the league last year (and the year before) in the least money paid to injured players. Chiefs. And the year they won the Super Bowl, the Bucs ranked 4th in the NFL in the same category.

I don't think that's necessarily true given that the Vikings will very likely be paying a rookie salary to whomever their QB is at the time.

Cutting his routes short? Are you confusing KJ with Reagor? KJ,IMO, made some big steps forward last year and with another year of growth could be a legit weapon for this team. He plays very physical and that has been missing from our WR room for a long damn time.

I think he could be a solid #2 if he shows another year of growth like we saw before last year. I think every team needs a hard nose receiver that will truck DBs and grab that extra 5 yards after the catch. I like his style and look forward to seeing if he makes another leap forward. Got to remember it was his first year under KOCs system as well, I am expecting big things for him

With Jefferson and Addison, the 3rd WR should be a deep threat guy who stretches the field with his presence. That will be Jalen Nailor.
People are sleeping on this kid, but he showed serious flashes in his rookie year with limited playing time. He has deep speed and good hands. A double move specialist with sneaky speed.
With a focus on Jefferson and TJ from safeties, Addison being the mid level threat, Nailor will get a lot of one on one opportunities to go deep and make the most of it.
I don't think JJ is gonna resign with the Vikings.
I hope he retires a Viking, but with how things have gone down the last 3 years, I have to wonder if he is gonna bolt after 2024.

Agree. It's just not in the cards for KJO after '23. I didn't see what the fuss was about with Nailor in college, but he's been getting raves in OTAs.

Why? They have built around him and made him the face of the franchise. They are on the come up if that defense takes a better shape this year and should be in the playoffs again.
