This kid has some talent. Decent build, shifty. Great footwork and elusive. 4 star high school recruit that started at Tennessee. Don't sleep on him. Ran a 4.38 forty at the Combine. Pound Mattison and then give Chandler 5 carries a game as a changeup...at the very least, a high upside RB#2. Built to be an every down RB now, he put on some muscle in this offseason (check him out at the end of this video #32):

Chandler's got some juice. Wouldn't surprise me too much if he takes the lead back role from Mattison.

He's got the juice and isn't just a speed guy like Kene.  He had some nice inside runs by following blocks and running through contact. Tough runner.  Underrated receiver too.

based on what we saw in the past,  he could and maybe should be a 50/50 split with AM,  I know that none of these guys has the ceiling that DC has,  but I think if we can find a nice rotation of the 3 that we will have  a better overall running game than what we got from DC last year.  IMO the biggest thing I want to see is the ability to pick up a couple yards when we need to, and to limit the runs of 1 yard or less better than what we got from DC last year.

Pretty much how I see things rolling out post Dalvin. The short yardage failures were so frustrating and inexcusable. Really hope this presumed rotation can solve that puzzle.

Yep, we gained 1yd or less on like 25.5% of rushing attempts in 2022, yuck…

DC led the league in rushing futility of 1yd or less,  now thats not all on him,  but there were plenty of times he wasnt hitting the holes that were there and would instead dance around looking for  a home run... sometimes the best decision is just getting to 2nd or 3rd down and manageable.

Dalvin caught Petersonitis.  Hope to see much more Chandler this season.  Last year he was so exciting in preseason, then spent the regular season on a milk carton.

you are right,  AD did the same thing,  I wonder if after so many years of getting pounded they start to try a preserve their bodies by avoiding that type of run,  or if they just get a mental thing that says there is something better coming.

I think Chandler will prove to be just as explosive at times as long  as he isnt beaten into the ground.

One of the many things that stood out to me last season is we rarely won the line of scrimmage battles. On defense we got not push or pentration and it was mostly the same on offense, which had a lot to do with Bradbury still being Bradbury, Ingram struggling, and Darrisaw out with concussions. With all that said, Cook still averaged 4.4 ypc and impacted games. With the Oliver addition we need to be much better up front this season opening up running lanes

Ty Chandler has some Aaron Jones type qualities, if he can be close to that it would add another element to the backfield.

Dalvin has been making business decisions for a few years now. Mattison is average but runs hard. Still cant get over that game from 3ish years back when the Vikes went for it on 4th and 1 and Mattison didn't run through the big hole bounced it out and didn't pick up the first down.

Still cant get over that game-----Living up to your moniker

I want to see the best RB out there but if a RBC is all looking to move the rock rather than dance looking for the big play  for a highlight reel---bring them on.
