Too young to have seen him play. But his highlights were pretty epic. Remarkably similar running style to Adrian Peterson. First time I saw Brown run he was feeding Nazis hand grenades in the Dirty Dozen.
He was definitely a great running back. Yes, AD was from the same mold as Brown.

He quit in 65, whole lot of discontent going on. He and Ali were navigating some turbulent times. You either respected them or rejected them, didn't hear too many waffling on their opinions. Weird time to grow up, we were going to head up to Detroit in 67, pop cancelled because of the race riots.
I had an uncle who was a priest and his church was right in middle of the riot area in Detroit in '67. Scary times.
Quite the man, quite the legend of the NFL.
