The Gophers had the perfect Game Plan using QU's defensive style against them to protect from odd man rushes off of turnovers. When QU started to pinch their D and send more than one Forechecker in the Second Period and flip the script, the Gophers Turtled and played not to lose in the Third. Hats off to QU. They did what they had to do to take away the game from the Gophers. As a Gophers Alum, this one is going to hurt for some time. :'( I think Motzko will get it done eventually and has the program back where it should be which is competing for National Championships every year.
Just when I thought I really don't take sports to seriously anymore...

Seriously,
those Bobcats are a frickin' tough team. They beat Michigan and the
Gophs to win the title. They have my respect and congrats to them.
The Bobcats emphasized the "sudden" in sudden death OT. B)
There's no way I thought anyone would beat that talented Gopher team. Quinnipiac can skate and hit; and that's how to slow down a faster more talented team. They just pounded the Gophs and won.
The Gophers screwed up that 3rd period and took a stupid penalty. Oh well
Locked in Brock! ✍️

It was a Minnesota team in a title game. What else would you expect?
Doesn't Quinnipiac sound more like a joint coast guard exercise with Canada and Minnesota, more than a college?

Typical Minnesota team that plays to not lose. When will we learn? Hats off to Quinnipiac though. They played gutsy.

Didn't know it was an actual university with sports until this thread. And what happened to DU? I thought they were supposed to win this every year.

Quinnipiac is one of those frozen microwaveable diet plan meals they deliver to your door. The main entree consists of vegetables and gopher meat.
Its the Eskimo word for 'choking gopher'.
Yeah, the Gophs were ranked #1, but it's not like they got beat by an unranked team. Quinnipiac was ranked #2 and was highly ranked the entire season. I did think the Goofs would win, but really wasn't that surprised it was a close game. Quinnipiac played a great game and wasn't intimated by the high scoring Minnesota team.
