That's a bargain for a good pass rusher.
Can he cover receivers or running backs? Seems to be the requirement for our pass rushers these days with a 3-4 defense
He’s a very good edge run defender too.

This is a huge get! He’s a stud who had a down year statistically. I say statistically because he had 34 pressures. Tomlinson had 29 pressures. If they can somehow get these two together, they will be a force.
The expected contract for Davenport was 4 year/$80+ million. He’s young and highly skilled. I’m shocked they got him at this number.
Former first round pick who never lived up to expectations in New Orleans. Played in 15 games last season and had a whopping half a sack. The year prior he had 9 sacks in 13 games, in 2020 he had 1.5 sacks.....so what are we getting here and how does this signing effect Zadarius Smith? Also I'm always interested to see how guys who have played in a certain scheme their whole careers transition to something completely different.

Nobody can be too upset with a 1 year flier on a high-upside pass rusher. The underlying pressure rates are there and he is also an above-average run defender. Does Flores help him put it all together? Maybe. If not he's serviceable as a #2 option.

I like your style, Kwesi.
yeah, the contract may be for 13 million but how much of it is guaranteed there could be a whole lot of other stuff in there that makes it a lot more affordable
Marcus Davenport was @PFF's #1 ranked free agent EDGE rusher this year, above players like Frank Clark, Brandon Graham, Jadeveon Clowney, and Yannick Ngakoue.

Davenport was ranked 21st on @PFF's entire free agent big board (ahead of Cam Sutton and Chauncey Gardner Johnson). pic.twitter.com/o5yqTJm6vd

I love this type of signing--hugely talented guy, still very young, no long term risk, get a big discount due to a bad year, some injury concerns, pay low for it and see if it pays off.
Plus it sends a message to guys like Z. We like you, we'd love to have you back at your current salary, but don't think you can't be replaced

Kind of troubling...possibly
Pass rusher Marcus Davenport did not appear today at a press conference for the Vikings' newly-acquired free agents. Some details of his contract are still being worked out. The team had previously announced he had agreed to terms, but that's not the same as "signed."

The #Vikings today introduced free-agent signees Byron Murphy and Josh Oliver. However, they did not introduce Marcus Davenport since he had to fly back home. Vikings plan to introduce him at a later time.

The Vikings and edge rusher Marcus Davenport are still working through contract specifics, a source told The Athletic.

Hope he's able to pass his physical.
