this is so sad.   essentially 3 picks missing and we have a TE ( that I really like )  that needs a big money deal right away to show for it.  ( honestly dont remember though where the others have gone,  I assume Rick traded them for a punter or something )

It would have been nice if the Vikings would have received more from Detroit from last year's draft trade. I thought I read somewhere Detroit was expecting to give up a first and was prepared to do so but it wasn't requested. Perhaps because of that, the Lions were open to trade Hockenson.

No our illustrious GM traded draft picks before the season for Raegor (bust) and Blacklock (bust), so combine those with what we traded for Hockenson and there you have it.

Meanwhile the 49ers received seven, that's right...seven, compensatory picks. Most of those were from other teams hiring their minority front office people so they were rewarded. I still think that is the biggest load of shit teams being rewarded for that. 49ers went from 3 draft picks to now having 10.

Four of the 49ers’ new picks come as a result of the NFL’s formula awarding picks to teams that have a net loss in free agents. The other three picks are a result of the league’s initiative that awards picks to the prior employer-club of a minority employee who has been hired by another club as its head coach or primary football executive. Jets head coach Robert Saleh, Commanders General Manager Martin Mayhew, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans, and Titans General Manager Ran Carthon have left the Niners in the last three years.
All three of those 49ers picks are third-rounders. The Browns and Chiefs also received third round selections via that route and the Rams joined the 49ers in picking up four overall picks because of their free agent losses.

Our original 4th went in last year's draft for Akayleb Evans.
