Please god no. Bust-a-reeno.
Not surprising, teams meet with MANY players....and never draft them. And then draft players they've never met.
Its part of the due diligence process. Doesn't mean anything. Or they might be interested. Its all guesswork until Draft day.

exactly, pretty much anything coming from the combine is a non story. who meets with who, who ran fast, who didnt, not much to be gleaned from the combine for the fans.

Yep. And then the Pro Days happen, which is even more stupid. What music was played when Will Levis was throwing? CJ Stroud was 45/45 throwing to wide open guys and no pass rush, holy shit!! Anthony Richardson threw the ball 65 yards from his knees! And some younger fans get off HARD on that shit.
Every team should do whatever it takes to fully understand every QB that is going to get drafted. I get that teams need to prioritize meetings and resources, but QB is so important that you really need to do your due diligence.

Never really understood the reason behind Pro Days. Just seems redundant to the combine.

the recruit and the school get to highlight the things that the recruit does well, and in a controlled environment that the player is typically comfortable with.

Too many tools to drop.
He scares the crap out of me. Then again, I also thought Josh Allen would flop.
I just hope they don't take Richardson out to dinner. Someone could get hurt when he's asked to pass the salt and he hits the next table.
It would be more surprising if they didn't meet with him.

So to your point, yeah the Vikings are going to interview some QBs. Doesn't mean they'll draft Richardson or have the opportunity to even if they love him. Such is the Draft.

Richardson was effortless flicking the ball 60-70 yards today at the Combine. Just a wrist flick it seemed. And then he finishes off the workout with a back somersault. Freak athlete.
I believe he will be on the board in the 3rd round. imo any gm spending a first on him will be in jeopardy for his job in 2 years.

He won't be on the board in the 3rd round. He might not be on the board past the 3rd pick. I'm not saying he won't be a bust, but we've all seen this movie before with freak athletes and NFL GMs. A guy who showed a little more physical gifts than earlier thought was Stetson Bennett. Ran like a 4.67 which was better than expected and arm strength was a notch better than advertised. He's accurate as hell. But the dude is SMALL. Bennett helped himself but what that means from a draft selection perspective I have zero idea. It might not move his draft needle much. Everything is pretty hyperbolic right now.

wow, 3rd round!? Not sure what he will be but I highly doubt he is available past 10 or 12
Richardson put on a show yesterday and likely cemented himself into the top 15. But before anyone goes crazy over his numbers...

@"StickyBun" said:No doubt, AR is a better prospect than Webb was. But folks are raving about athletic numbers at a position for which its, not meaningless, but among the dozen factors that enable good college QBs to become good NFL QBs, it probably ranks about...11th.@"MaroonBells" said:Richardson put on a show yesterday and likely cemented himself into the top 15.
