I'm a fan.
Based on what I've learned since the interview was announced, he'd be the guy I'd want. I'm not going to get my hopes up though. Apparently, he's the leading candidate to get the HC job in Arizona.
Cover 0 and cover 1 guy. Frequent and well disguised blitzes. Mostly a 3-4 base guy, but as is the trend, he's not married to it: “I’m unable to say I’m 3-4 or 4-3. I’m not wired that way. You have to be scheme versatile. We want to do that....It could be different every week. I think in this game, you have to be multiple. If you sit in one thing, the coaches are too good.”
If we're able to get him, maybe he can bring Cameron Sutton with him.
He’d need some serious upgrades on D to make it work. I’m hoping the Cardinals are using him as a Rooney rule

Two things pop out for me;
This would feel like a short time hire
There are some potential flags with him culturally
There are a lot of good names out there for DC
Flores makes the relationship that Zimmer had with Speilman and Cousins look like a Hallmark movie. Before you advocate for this guy, look into why he was really let go by the Dolphins, it was 100x worse than what Zimmer was accused of.
The decision to fire Flores can be summed up with one word: Relationships. His relationship with Grier and Tua had deteriorated to a pretty bad place. Along with constant staff changes, owner Steve Ross no longer saw Flores as a healthy fit in Miami. https://t.co/9oRmk66hm9

maybe we need an ahole? _onatell was a passive pos.
Belichick tree guys all fail at HC gigs because they act like dicks. The dick side of Belichick rubs off but the rest doesn't.
I don't know if hardass DC would fit with the new purple kumbaya culture. Would they fire him if he refused to say "hi" in the hallway?

Yeah, I have no idea what the lickeroom dynamics would look like. Part of me thinks a good cop bad cop thing might work.
The thing that every team now has to consider with Flores is, if he is not good and at some point you have to fire him, is that something you want to worry about (especially with the Vikings and a white ownership and white head coach) on the heels of his lawsuit? It's almost like bringing Kaepernick on your team in that you have to worry about the repercussions if he doesn't work out and you need to move on. I would not want to worry about that if I was KOC and to me it was very telling that Belickick, who routinely brings back his former coaches who have been fired, did not elect to bring Flores back after getting fired in Miami. I think he might do a good job but the risk if he doesn't wouldn't be worth it. Hard pass

I would be happy with Flores.
Keep in mind the following:
- Dolphin's owner asked him to tank. I don't doubt that they tried to bury him when he refused to do so.
- KOC and Flores overlapped at the Patriots for a year.
- Yes, Belichick didn't bring him back. Keep in mind, Flores brought the very private Belichick into the lawsuit because of Belichick's text messages erroneously sent to Flores.

As a head coach I'd be wary of him with the QB but I'm fine with him as a DC.
@"supafreak84" said:Anybody can sue for anything, but the fact that he would be hired and fired by a black man ( if it were to happen) certainly controls both the optics and narrative. Not to mention he loses most any credibility if he plays that card again with little or no proof. I just dont see it as a story that gets any traction if it were to come to that.@"JimmyinSD" said:I thought about that, but the Dolphins GM was black when they fired Flores and he sued them....so guess not@"supafreak84" said: The thing that every team now has to consider with Flores is, if he is not good and at some point you have to fire him, is that something you want to worry about (especially with the Vikings and a white ownership and white head coach) on the heels of his lawsuit? PA seems to think that the AZ job is Flores for the taking, I am trying to imagine kyler murray walking around with a play station sticking out of his ass after he told coach he wasnt ready for the practice because he was up all night waiting in line for COD 27 to be released.
